I'm having a band painting marathon today. Here are two more.
After MONTHS and MONTHS of watching this thread I FINALLY got my own bands and painted them! SO excited to finally be sharing my bands here!!
So thanks for all the inspiration and tips to everyone before me who experimented!
I painted these directly on the bands with acrylic paints, I plan to use 2 coats of spray on acrylic sealer tomorrow once they dry completely. I had a friend use the exact same method and her bands held up through her trip, including water parks, just fine!
Excellent job. I love the orange bird....so cute! I have earrings from when I was a kid.
My husband decided his band looked too plain so he asked me to do something. This is what I came up with. The lightsabers will glow in the dark and I put glow in the dark paint on the braid of mine. http://s1378.photobucket.com/user/ddpaints2000/media/2014-09-09075054_zpsc5fbc99f.jpg.html http://s1378.photobucket.com/user/ddpaints2000/media/2014-09-09075106_zpsd764f2ea.jpg.html
Nice... where did you get the DVC slides?
It was a little extra surprise after I had opened the plain brown outer box and figured out they were our bands I opened the band box and out popped 2 DVC sliders.![]()
XMom said:Cree 629, how did you do the frozen one? Did you paint the band white? I love your polka dot Mickey one! They are all great!
Here's some new ones that I've painted in the last couple of days...It makes these last 12 days go by a little quicker!
These are awesome! What did you use to get your outlining so perfect?
if you look back at some previous posts, there were some people who used stickers.Could some one please tell me if stickers work or does it have to be tatoos?
Cree629......how did you paint your edges? The space between the white and gray on your Frozen band looks so clean!
I used the tip I read way back somewhere in this thread... I fastened the bands around an empty water bottle and then used Scotch tape to cover the gray edges and attach the bands to the bottles. Super easy to hold/paint them that way, and then once they were dry I peeled off the Scotch tape and the edges stayed nice and clean!
