Has anyone decorated their Magic Bands? Please show us the pictures!

I haven't read all of the posts, so I'm not sure if my question has already been answered.
To the people who used nail polish - what did you use to outline the Mickey head?
Thanks in advance!

The Mickey head is raised on the band so it is very easy to do, however, if you are talking about just filling in the ridge around the raised Mickey head.....I have no idea how that is done.

Thank you, I've only used stickers and mod podge, no metal. :) It just kind of soured the experience for me when that was the first comment made about it, and pretty much the only one. So maybe I'll post the pictures here. I have very little drawing talent, so they're not the greatest looking, but we like them. :) I just wanted to check with another group.

We love decorated magic bands here. Each person brings more experience to help others along the way. Even the ones others see as 'not the greatest looking' ones are great here! Bring on the pictures!

I have a practice band I've been playing with. I got a good lining with an art nail pen. I used a qtip dipped in polish remover to clean up the out of lines. We'll see what happens when I combine it with contrasting polish for the interior.

Finally have a visit planned for next year and thinking about decorating the bands. SWMBO loves Mrs. Incredible. Any thoughts on the best color band or how to decorate? Neither of us can draw a straight line with a ruler or are particularly creative. :rolleyes1

If I do mine I will probably go with Grumpy or Statler and Waldorf. Any thoughts on that?

Someone did a great Grumpy band that they posted a few pages ago. I might try to copy it if I was doing a Grumpy band.

I have seen Incredibles tattoos somewhere recently. That would be the easiest way to add her to a band. Either that or paint a red band with details to give a nod to her outfit.

Brand new sharpie! It worked great in the divot around the Mickey head.

paint over it as messy as you want then use a q-tip and nail polish remover to get rid of the excess paint. It will stay in the grove and outline it perfectly

Aww...that was my DH! I will tell him you said so...he just finished a Jack Skellington today. I will post it when I have access to photobucket.

Now you're speaking my language....I love Jack Skellington. I am hoping to get another band to decorate with a Nightmare theme. I couldn't come up with a design before and went with Maleficent instead.

I think someone said that the regular sharpie didn't hold up well, so other people were trying the sharpie paint pen instead, or the nail polish pens/liners for those who didn't want to try the nail polish then swabbing with remover thing.

I used a black nail art pen that I bought off eBay (it was only about $3, I think it was delivered from Hong Kong) and I did mine 3 days ago and none has came off yet, and I've been swimming with it on :)

Today was our last Disney day before heading to Universal. I was able to buy 5 bands that are not attached to an account. I am planning to paint them as gifts. I figure that will keep me busy for a little while until my next set arrive. :-)

Let us know if you've been getting comments on your bands!! And head over to the Universal boards and let us know how Diagon Alley is!!!

If you need bands to pass the time, I'd be more than happy to mail ours to you. You can decorate to your heart's content... ;)

Those of you who have decorated your band and have used them to get into the park, when you cover the mickey head with nail polish or paint or whatever, did it still work? I posted a picture of the bands I decorated with stickers and the first response I got to them was "You can't have anything covering the mickey head. They'll make you buy a new band or remove the stickers." Yet most of the pictures I find have something over the mickey head and have yet to hear anyone say they couldn't get into the parks because of it.

Worked with no problems. Actually I had issues with undecorated bands before but not at all with my decorated.

Lol, thank you. :) I was so annoyed when someone told me that, I felt like they sprinkled me with bad pixie dust. All I kept thinking was how many bands I saw, even on that page, that covered the Mickey head with something and how much money Disney is making off of all of those people.
