Has anyone called and received a pin attached to their name lately?

Hi! I have been hesitant to call CR and ask about a pin, but would really like to book a trip this fall. Has anyone called lately, and had any luck? Thanks! :goodvibes

I was told by cro that there were no pins offered past June 2, at this time. Nor, would there be due to the heavy volume of people coming in for the summer. I'm guessing not untill late Aug. and early fall. Hope this helps.

Just adding to the bad news. I just called for CSR standard for after Aug 5, six nights. All they had was a king (more $), so I asked about any pins/codes attached to my name and she practically said no before I finished my sentence, so it looks mighty grim.

I booked for November and asked about a pin, and the CM said, "What do you mean?" I said "a discount code" and she said, "No..." in a very confused voice.

I'm starting to wonder if they even HAVE them lately.

Thanks so much for all of your help! It doesn't look good for our trip!:confused3 With 4 kids, we need all the help we can get!

I just called and received the same reaction from the CM I spoke with. I had to repeat myself 3 times, asking if there was a code or pin attached to my name each time, and the CM either had no idea, or acted like he had no idea what I was talking about. He said that he would check any code I would like, but I would have to supply the code to him....

Ah well, I ended up with a good Fl Resident rate anyways =)

Probably new staff? I made my reservations yesterday and mentioned I plan on taking advantage of the DDP special offer. I was required to provided the code, which I found odd as it is a huge promotion right now.

I just called yesterday and had a pin attached to my name. Got free dining, tix, and POR waterview rooms @ a great discount! Couldn't believe it!

So, let me get this straight. You can just call Disney, and ask if they have a code or a pin attached to your name, and there's a chance you can get a discount that way? I'm new to all this, but I'd love to save money on our trip. Here's our story: We've booked our room at the Poly for Feb. 2008 and bought our park tickets. So far, we've paid about $1000 for the park tickets (2 adults and 2 kids) and $361 for one night's deposit at the Poly.

What should I do now? Call and ask if there's a pin attached to my name? Wait for 2008 packages to come out, and then call?

Help me, please!

You can:
1) call and ask if there's a pin attatched to your name.

2) check this board and/or Mousesavers starting around Oct to see if there will be an annual passholder discount available in Feb (the AP disc can be up to 40%; only one member of your party has to have a pass, which costs in the neighborhood of $200ish more than a park hopper). You can usually have the disc. applied to your existing room-only res., if they won't, you can book a new res. w/ the code, and cancel your existing res (after making the new one!) as long as it is more than 5 days from your check-in date. BUT...you'll have to ask someone else if Disney will allow you to upgrade one of your existing adult passes to a AP.

3) call Disney about 60 days before your reservation and ask if they have any discounts for your dates. If not, keep calling back. They look at bookings about 45-60 days in advance, and if they aren't satisfied w/ the # of rooms they have booked, they'll start offering discounts.

I called and asked about a pin next to my name. He did not even want to check. He told me that it would come in a postcard if I got one. Of course I pressed and he did check and...no go. He repeated that if I were to get a pin, it would arrive by mail. :confused3

I called yesterday and had a pin attached to my name. Was able to apply to my existing reservation. Cost per night was slightly less than ap rate I had, but I saved over $200 by not buying the AP. I was only going to get the AP for the room discount.

I had not received an email or postcard. I asked the CM how I should have known about it and she said they usually come by email. My email address was correct, but still had not received anything.

Unbeknownst to me, I had a pin code attached to my name several months ago, and received NO email or postcard to let me know. You better believe I'm asking from now on!!

True, it is supposed to be mailed or emailed to you, because the whole reason they distribute PIN codes is to get you to use them. But technically, my water bill is supposed to arrive by mail too, but sometimes it doesn't. And there are times when I accidentally click "delete all" when my spam folder opens, and then I'm like "eeeek!" coz I didn't mean to and now, poof! who knows what I just deleted. So it never hurts to check.

do the PIN codes expire? I'm assuming they do, but do they generally have the same "life expectancy" as public codes?

I just called tonight and had a PIN attached to my name...

I got POR for 94 a night for travel dates in late Sept.

I was also able to add on tix and dining for a total savings of 240 for 4 nights.

At first she said it was a room only pin but then I told her I added on dining to a PIN I had in March of this year and she checked, came bak and said, OK...

And the rest is history

I called to ask about a pin or code, and the guy told me that the only people who get those are the ones who visit the parks frequently (like 15 times). Is that really true? If so, I'm out of luck. I haven't been since I moved out of Florida 10 years ago. :confused3
