How was it? Is it worth staying 2 nights? I just got a wild hair thought. We have to move our last two nights on Nov. 25th and 26th.....we are SSR for 5 nights and then OKW for 2. SO just now I thought...about maybe staying at Vero those last two nights. I mean WDW gets packed by then....might be kinda fun. Not sure if there is any availability in a 2br. Anyone done this?? Would we be bored??? How cold is it then? Do people use the pool in Nov.??? Am I crazy??????????:rotfl2:

We were there for a few days right after Thanksgiving, but it was several years ago. I'm not a pool or beach person, so 2 or 3 nights at VB were plenty for me. It is a beautiful place.

Weather is variable (obviously, LOL). We swam every day - but we are from Minnesota and the kids would go swimming as long as the pool/lake/ocean wasn't covered with ice. :teeth: As I recall though, we had good weather - high 70's and low 80's.

Here's a link to the average temperatures (by month) for Vero Beach:

We had a car, so we did go into Vero Beach for a few meals. The resort had children's activities, mini-golf and there was an area across the highway (there is a tunnel so it was safe to get there) that has tennis and basketball courts.

Thanks I will check these out. I am thinking it might be nice to go our last two nights since the parks are sooooooo packed by then anyway. I guess first I need to call MS and see if a 2br is even available. :)

We were there last Thanksgiving. Weather was beautiful. By Thanksgiving day and the weekend the resort filled up. The kids love the VB resort, especially the pool slide. They have tons of activities for the kids too.

They had a Thanksgiving Day buffet at Shutters/Sonya's. The food was in Shutters but seating was in both areas. You need a reservation. I saw room service delivering full Thanksgiving dinners to a couple of rooms & one beach cottage.

It's very relaxing after a WDW stay.

I called and there is NO ROOM...booohooooooo. I guess I could waitlist though. Not so sure that will come up.

Denise, Vero Beach books up early for most holidays. You are checking on availability only 2 mos. before.......that is just too late, not just for VB but for most DVC's anytime, and especially at Thanksgiving. There are few 2 bedrooms at VB. You need to book at 7 mos. if you want 2 bedrooms or 1 bedrooms. It seems that INN rooms (ocean and garden) are the ones most available spur of the moment.

Yeah I figured that. We are booked for that time at SSR and OKW. I just got the wild thought that maybe if there was room we could try vero our last two nights in FL. Thanks.
