I just read about this on another site. It says sing-a-long/camp fire. S'mores for sale $5.00 pack for marshmallow's, sticks, etc... Anyone done this and liked it? They also said there was a hayride, but it was like an hour or something. Anyone done this? What about the petting zoo? I've been to The Whispering Canyons Cafe at The Wilderness Lodge, Is Ft. Wilderness near there? And what movie did they play? Any help would be great, thanks!!!!

I've been to the campfire first by myself on a solo trip, enjoyed it and took the whole family on our next family trip- everyone enjoyed it! :)

It's called for about 7PM and if you've never been to Ft. Wilderness, it's a little hard to find the campsite it in the dark. The buses don't go directly to the campsite. Make sure you get a map of the place...

I really loved it, but my husband thought it was mostly for kids...

Chip and Dale come and you can take pictures. We had a lady singing while playing her guitar. She sang simple songs that everyone knows, so it's nice because pple all join in. Old McDonald had a farm, B-I-N-G-O (but with PLUTO, instead), a song with the states in the US and pple cheer for their state, some Disney songs, a Happy Birthday song for those whose birthday is that day/week. They also had kids come up and sing "It's a small world after all".

There are two fires going and pple stand around toasting marshmellows, franks, etc... After the singing is over they show a cartoon on a large screen. You can call ahead and find out which cartoon they're showing. I think on the weekends they show two...

When we went, the petting zoo was closed already for the day.

Check out the camping board for a list of this month's movies. They post as soon as published. We camp at Ft. Wilderness and love it. We usually do the campfire and movie at least once during our stay. The petting zoo is pretty small, but a nice thing to walk thru and relax. We enjoy roaming around the Ft. and can't wait to do it in two weeks!

We stayed in the FW cabins 3x & did the campfire once each trip. My DS loved it when he was little. Even tho the movies weren't first run & he had seen them before, it was special to watch outdoors. He loved making s'mores & sing-along with Chip & Dale. It was fun for us because he liked it so much.
The last time we did it was when he was 10 & the thrill was wearing off for him at that point.

Ask the bus driver which stop to get off at. Both times I've gone they dropped us off RIGHT where you just walk down a little pathway across a little bridge and there it is- can't miss it.... if you get off at the right stop. LOL
