I asked this on the other Community Board and it was suggested to come over here and ask. Has anyone been to Norway? DH is traveling there and wanted to know what I wanted and what he should buy for our 3 kids (9,9,3).

I have never been there or even thought of going there. I hear it is cold this time of year. LOL I suggested Legos that are exclusive to European markets. Other than that, I don't know.

When he travels to London, I won't let him buy anything AT ALL! He went to Harrod's and spent a small fortune on 3 stuffed bears (kids loved them) and 2 sweatshirts for us. I nearly died when I did the exchange rate.

Thank you in advance for any ideas,

I've not been to Norway but I have been to Sweden and Denmark. I'm not sure what would appeal to kids but their knitwear, glass and carved ornaments were lovely. Compared to Britain I found them quite expensive, but he maybe able to make tax-free purchases at bigger stores. (I'm sure the Christmas decorations would be interesting too.)
I hope someone can give you more specific info.

Thanks for the Christmas ornament idea. I didn't even think of that.

Hi, I was in Norway recently and have worked briefly there on occasions. I would have to warn you that I think Norway , although very beautiful and populated with the most charming people, is one of the most expensive countries I have ever visited. Whatever your DH managed to spend in Harrods I would think would be very small beer compared with what he could spend without blinking in Norway.

Best of luck and I'm sure the trip will be great. :D

I visited Norway many many years ago with my parents, we went in the winter and boy was it cold - make sure you wrap up really warm!!

We went to Oslo and Bergen, travelling between the two cities by train, the scenary was amazing but like Tony Toon says it is VERY expensive!! I'm afraid I don't have any bright ideas of gifts to buy but I'm sure that your husband will enjoy his visit.

Astrid :)

Thanks for the replies. DH keeps checking the weatherfor Oslo and cringes. It is supposed to be in the upper 60's here this week. I don't think he will be shopping that much except in the hotel gift shop. LOL
