Has Anyone Been To Carousel Suites Since The Renovations?

My household is planning to return to Disneyland in a few months. We stayed at the Carousel Inn in April and May of 2006. There was a bunch of construction work going on there at the time. While we were there, we took a walk around the area; and my husband was so enchanted by the Candy Cane Inn that he said that that was where he wanted to stay next time.

Now that the renovations at the Carousel Inn would now be complete, would the Candy Cane Inn still be the better choice?

We just stayed at the Carousel Inn last week. It was a nice hotel. One thing that happened though is that somehow they did not acknowledg my room upgrade via the internet so instead of getting the club suite they gave us 2 rooms at the same price (which worked out better for us having 2 teen girls they were excited.) I have also stayed at the Candy Cane twice. I think I prefer the Candy Cane, the breakfast is way better and the shuttle is very nice. The Carousel rooms are bigger I think and is closer if you need to walk back during the day and not have to wait for a shuttle. How many people in your family? I like the overall feel of the Candy Cane better.

I stayed there in January and it was an OK experience. Smoke detectors are too sensitive though, I set mine off after a shower.

Recently a Dis'er had a pretty nasty experience there, involving a totally uncaring, noncommunicative staff and management, and a thieving housekeeping person...

Yes the Carousel is closer, but I think I'd try CCI, especially since your hubby is so enchanted by it. :goodvibes

The rooms at CCI are very small so it would depend on the number and ages of the kids in your group. The "Premier" rooms are not much bigger and still smaller than a standard room at Hojos or Carousel.

Hojos is about the same distance as CCI but does not include breakfast but at $59 for the Entertainment rate it is a lot cheaper. We are still considering Carousel for next year, there has been a management change since our last stay and I am comfortable about the security. There are two sides to every story but would have to agree that management poorly handled the DIS boarders recent problems.

We are currently considering Carousel, Tropicanna and Hojos if we can get the Ent rate.

One thing I like about the Carousel is the view of CA from your room door. I liked seeing C.A. as soon as I opened the door every morning. We stayed at the Carousel in 2004, then we stayed at the Tropicana in 2006 We are going to stay at the Carousel on our next trip in Oct.2008. I can gardly wait.:goodvibes

just based on all the bad reviews ive read including the one where the ladys items went missing off her bed and what not and then magicaly appeared back when she complained..well i wont ever stay there.
But if you do take a bag that locks and dont keep anything out when you are gone just would hate for something like that to happen to another diser

Desert inn, camolot, or hojos is where id sugest checking out
HoJO's looks good i havent styed there yet.
Desert inn looks good for what I like its so close and has hot tub in bathroom

camolot inn was grate last year
