my brother has been there and reccommends it but would like to know what you all think .

and also Sweet tomatoes are these the same as ponderosa ?

Have been to Applebees in California and the food was nice, standard chain fayre but tasty and good variety.

We have eaten at Applebees a few times and found it very nice. Typical American chain restaurant fare, but the service was good and the menu had a lot of choice on it (which is good for a fussy eater like me). However having said that, we haven't actually eaten at one in Orlando - not even sure where you'd find one to be honest. The nearest one we have eaten at was one just outside Busch Gardens in Tampa, which was great because we wanted to eat before heading back up I-4 that evening.

And in answer to your second question, no Sweet Tomatoes is nothing like Ponderosa. Not only that, it's a million times better! Bascially it's an all-you-can-load-on-your-plate freshly prepared salads (which are their main focus), plus unlimited made in-house pastas, breads, soups (and some other dishes as well) for one great price. I'm not kidding when I say we would never have a holiday in Florida without at least one trip to Sweet Tomatoes!

We love Sweet Tomatoes. There soups are fantastic. My absolute favourite is their Deep Kettle Chilli. They have some soups that are always available and the rest changes on a rotation with some seasonal specials thrown in.

We love Applebees, last ate there about a month ago and twice last year. Had a great deal on our last visit for $20, one appetiser to share and two entrees.

Really nice atmosphere, quick service, good value for money and the food was very tasty. The location we visit is on the US27, just by Highlands Reserve, on the Berry Town Center complex. :)

I think Applebees is fine - not haute cuisine, but decent family food and good value for money. Much better than your Harvester/Beefeater stuff over here...

thanks guys .....:thumbsup2
could you tell me where the nearest one would be to Old town Kissimmee please ?

Sweet Tomatoes is wayyy better than Ponderosa, lovely fresh food and so yummy :goodvibes Haven't eaten at Applebees but I would agree that it seems like standard American chain type of stuff.

Although Sweet Tomatoes is about as veggie friendly as they come, it is not a vegetarian restaurant. About half of the soups, some of the tossed salads and about half of the pasta choices on any given day contains meat.

Applebee's is pretty standard but the food is quite nice. The one in kissimmee on 192 had beer pong competetions on saturday nights when we were there hehe
