Looking at the website yesterday I can see that a race is starting at 7.30am in AK on a day we had planned to go there for Rainforest cafe breakfast then a day in the park. Everywhere I look it suggests that its a light day that day but is that true :confused3

Has anyone been over that time that can tell me what its like (in any of the parks) ?

Which half marathon is it?

I would probably avoid as getting around when there are races on in the area can be difficult.

Do you know what, I must of been half asleep when I posted this morning. I actually mean Mickey’s Jingle Jungle 5K!! :coffee:!!

Its the one that starts at 7am in November.

I'm not sure that this will help you at all, but we are running in the Jingle Jungle 5K for Great Ormond Street Hospital. The registration paperwork and our own research suggests that the race will be over in about 1 hour. There is a time limit (we have to be able to run it at 16 minutes per mile) which equates to around an hour. So by around 8.30, the run should be over. As the race is before park opening, I don't think it will have much effect on the crowd level.

Thank you. That does help, I think we will still go with our plans and go that day.

Great cause that you are running for by the way :goodvibes

I'm running that day also. I have an ADR at Tusker House at 8:15, I don't expect the park to be hugely affected by the run crowds (my suspicion this race is either ran by guests who are already at the resort or people in the local Orlando area who may not care to hang about afterwards).

Race entry does not include park entry after the race has ended. I think it will be busier as you arrive if loads of people are milling out, and also there might be crowd like me who have made breakfast ressies simply because they are there anyway. But I honestly think you'll have a good day :-)

Excellent, thank you for putting my mind at rest. I think I just panicked when I saw it was on the day we were planning! I am deffo going to book RC for breakfast just in case its busy in there. Thinking about it will only be our second full day at WDW so the kiddies (and us) will still be adjusting to the time difference so its not a major prob if the rides are overly busy as I suspect we will be mostly looking at the animals and maybe watching a show.
