Has anyone been to a "Pasta in the Park" Party?

My mom, brother, family friend and I are heading to WDW for the first time this January for the half marathon. We've done the Disneyland half a few times and really want that coast-to-coast this year :thumbsup2

We've never done the pasta party because the DL one includes a ticket and thus, was atrociously expensive (we have annual passes). However, the WDW party looks pretty reasonable at $45. Has anyone been to one in prior years? It looks appealing for the food, Illuminations viewing, and possible characters... but while $45 a person isn't completely outrageous, it adds up quickly.

Just wanted some other opinions on this... good? Bad? Neutral? If you've done it, would you do it again? Would it be good for first-time visitors?

Thanks :goodvibes

I finally bit the bullet yesterday, and called for our tix. I still feel that $45 is a bit high for the meager food offerings. (I think we'll keep our ADR for that evening just in case!! After all, my 19yo needs proper nourishment ) BUT- we are adding it to our classic Disney experiences, and hence, couldn't pass it up :mickeyjum
Maybe we'll see you there!
