My sister wants me to go on a European cruise next year..We were going to got to Prague, but changed our pans..Ths cruise leaves from Barcelona, Goes to Nice France,Florence, Rome and Naples Italy,Mykonis Greece, Athens Greece, Santorini Greece and Ephesus Turkey .This would be on the Brilliance of the Seas(Royal Carribean) That's the ship the man disappeared from on his honeymoon. I've never been to Europe before and I've never been on a Cruise.

She's not anti-Disney..She went with us last April and is going with us in August...She's just not keen one being trapped on a ship with Mckey and friends...Her words ,not mine

I'm going on a Baltics cruise on Jewel of the Seas (same family as Brilliance) Jul 13th. I'll let you know how we liked it when I return. I'm thinking of doing a Mediterranean next year also.

I already know I love to cruise though. I've done all of Disney's itineraries and did Serenade of the Seas to Alaska last year.

I think it all depends on whether or not you enjoy the "cruise experience."

My parents have done that cruise and they loved it. Florence and Rome are beautiful cities and the Greek islands are amazing. My parents said that the boat was nice, the accomodation great and the staff very friendly. My parents go on quite a few European cruises and said this was one of their better ones. I personally haven't been on a cruise before but have visited some of those places and loved them.
Have a great trip.

I have :wave2: it was a Med cruise, but it was on Island Escape (or something), which is one of the more casual ones. I've also travelled in other places in Europe but without the cruise part (well, most Brits holiday in Europe).

You might get more responses/help if you post in the UK CB.

We took an Eastern Mediterranean cruise as part of our honeymoon many moons ago. We went to Egypt, Israel, Rhodes, Turkey and Cyprus. It was a fascinating, exciting trip for us and also our first cruise.

I can tell you that that should be a good ship to sail on. We took her sister ship the Radiance to Alaska 3 summers ago. Very beautiful ship and lots of glass. It's really hard to miss any of the scenery because everywhere you go on the ship has windows. I really want to take a Mediterranean cruise someday.

That sounds like an awesome trip. Especially Santorini, which in ancient times was called Thera. I would love to visit Akroteri. It's a Minoan city which was covered by ash and buried when a volcano erupted almost 4,000 years ago. Many people, myself included, believe that the ancient Minoian civilization was actually the Atlantians.

Not really a "cruise" but we took a barge trip down the Seine in France last year. The barge held about 50 passengers. It was 8 days and was just terrific. A totally different perspective from driving.

We have done the Windstar Cruises which are owned by Holland America. It is a smaller cruise with only about 300 passengers and 163 staff members. We have cruised their Europe itinerary and loved it. It is kind of adult oriented. I think you can have children but it is definitely not Disney. I don't know if that matters.
