Has Anyone Been for the 4th of July?

We are planning our 2002 for the July 4th week . . .wondering if anyone else has gone during that time and what I can expect as far as weather and how great the fireworks was!

My family and I visited this past July 4th and were quite impressed with the "non" crowds that we expected. We usually visit at other times of the year (Jan. Aug-Oct.) and expected major crowds. This was not the case. Now, it could be that everyone was there for last year for the Millenium celebration and waiting until this Oct. to return, but what a great trip. Yes, the weather was hot, but not unbearable as I had experienced on a June trip about 3 yrs. ago. We did experience a little more rain than anticipated, but it didn't ruin our time.

The fireworks .... I didn't know what to expect, so I was pleased. I must admit that we were at the Polynesian for the New Year's Eve fireworks and they were disappointing. Granted, we did watch from inside the hotel because it was FREEZING!!!!!, but the 4th fireworks were much grander.
