Has anyone been able to use a PIN for concierge level?

Hi all!

I was just reading a post on the resorts page that said that in the past people have been told by CMs that they have never been allowed to apply a code to club level rooms? I know that each resort only has a certain number of rooms available for the discounts, but I did not know that all concierge rooms were unavailable.

Has anyone been able to book a concierge level room with a PIN in the past? I am hoping for a somepixiedust: PIN to apply to our Christmas trip at AKL. I know not to expect anything...just hoping.

Thanks for all of your replies!:earsboy:

We booked two concierge level rooms at AKL for our August trip using a 30% off code.

My awesome TA just emailed me this morning, saying that she was able to apply a pin code I received via email to our RPC stay at the GF this August. This was the THIRD pin code I had received in the past two months -- the first was for 20 percent off, but no rooms were available and then the code expired. The second was for 30 percent off, but still no rooms available, and it too expired. Then earlier this week, I got another code for 30 percent off, so I emailed my TA again, and the first time she tried, no rooms. I guess she must have tried again this morning and a room was available. I am psyched!

FWIW, I had asked for a Disney DVD to be sent to me in my full name (maiden name and married last name), whereas my usual Disney ressies are made in just my married last name. And the pin codes were sent to my email with my maiden name and married last name. Could be worth a try. ;)

Yes you can use a code as long as that room type is still there. When Dinsey has codes or specials they allow so many rooms by type etc & so many resorts etc. If they have a club level for that code or pin you can book it. I did it back in May for a trip in late October. Some of the CM are not fully up to date on how to look or they are too busy or just being lazy :lmao: If you got a pin where I you to stay, book it & then call back in a few days to see if a club level open up ex someone cancel theirs. But who know but it can be done.

PS
When I book my back in May they told me none for club level at any resort but i called back & there was one at the BWI.

We used a code for BC, and were upgraded to concierge on arrival! At WL, we applied the discount to our existing ressie, but only if we upgraded. It all depends on what is available. Like all things Disney discount related, there doesn't seem to be a rhyme or reason, just luck of the draw. Keep calling back.

Availability with a PIN code, percentage code, FL resident rate, AP rate, cast and t/a rate, bouncback offer....all can change within a heartbeat. I don't believe CM's are lazy, uninformed, or don't want to look. Most are working at DRC for the fun of helping people plan vacations and to share their love of Disney- not for making huge bucks. I definitely doubt they wouldn't want to sprinkle pixie dust on guests vs. having someone disappointed or not booking. If something isn't available when someone calls, then it's not showing up AT THAT MOMENT on the CM's screen WITH THAT PROMO. It might be there for a different pin or different promo, or rack rate, or online at the website. Calling back is anyone's best bet. Not only is there the factor of another guest possibly "holding" the room type/resort you want at that moment/during that call on another CM's computer, a home computer, a t/a computer (which releases back into inventory if that person doesn't book )...but revenue teams constantly evaluate room occupancy- running frequent reports, calculating proposed offers based on complicated formulas. When they need to fill rooms, poof....more rooms are released. Just think of it this way. If someone higher up sees ALL availability, for instance at GF during a certain timeframe and most of the bookings are for CL rooms, then CL for that timeframe isn't likely to have any promo attached. If instead it's mostly Garden Views, then they'd rather offer a promo to get someone to book and pay for CL vs. needing to offer comp upgrades upon arrival because Garden View got oversold. Hope that makes sense. :-)---Kathy
