has anyone actually used Mears to go from disney resort to univ resort?

i suggested it to another poster on another message board because it was suggested to me previously but mears does not have resort to resort information on their website. they have transportation to the resort from the airport and transportation from the resort to an attraction but not to another resort.

i will not have a car and not sure what to do. taxis seem too expensive and i hate them. towncar quoted me $125 to do it all. anyone actually use mears for these type of transfers? cost?

i am planning on using ME to the disney resort (unless i stay at the swan) but i need transportation to my universal resort. i know that i can use mears back to the airport for like $16 one way. the taxi quote was like $40 to get to universal. HELP!

The cheapest way for you to get to the Swan from a Universal hotel would be taxi. All Universal resort have Mears taxis on the stand. The quote of $40.00 seems a little bit high, unless you got a flat rate quote. The taxi have meters and they should use them. I think a better price would be, a lot depends on which hotel you go to, around $30.00.

Yes, Mears does provide service between Disney and Universal. You need to call at least one day in advance to reserve it, and they'll tell you what time they'll pick you up (and exactly where at your resort).
If you only have one or two people going, Mears is cheaper; any more than that, and yes a cab is more cost effective. Mears shuttle is between $12 and $16 per person round trip.
