Has anybody to Port Aventura in Spain?

If so, how did you get there, where did you stay? did you do it independently? or as a package and with whom did you book?

How many days in the park do you need?

Is there much there for 0-5's? The water park looks fab.......

hi i went to cap salou two years ago, and going again this august. we thought it was great. they have late opening hours in the summer till 10pm i think. we brought our tickets from the gate and went by taxi. local travel agents only do tickets for two days which works out dearer than gate prices but you only need one day. saying that we went in sept last time, this year going aug bank hol so you might need extra day if your queing for big rides.. because of it being busy period. but brillaint day for kids and us adults. also try the bus jorney to la pinada to the water park. thats another great day out.

We went there last year, and i ripped a 2 inch hole in my foot in the water park, it looks great but isn't. Its probably ok, for the ability to just have a nice place to lie out under the sun, but if you stay onsite the hotel pools are just as good. We stayed at the Hotel El Paso, and the food was fantastic. The parks amazing, i did the Dragon Kahn 30 times or more. plus if you stay onsite your not far from Salou which has some great beaches and restraunts, including a great British pub. Plus your only a couple of hours from Barcelona

We went with first choice on a 2 week package.

We drove (got the portsmouth ferry to Bilbao) and just went to reception of the Port Ventura Hotel and asked if they had a family room available for a few days. It was July a week before the school holidays so there was a room free.

We had a great time and would definately recommend this location including the beach at Salou. The theme park opened late and was a great way to spend the evening.

I guess a long weekend would be good. We carried on driving round Spain including Gibraltar and Madrid.
