I dont know if I am just missing the threads about EE! :surfweb: But, I am real SUPRISED that no one is discussing WDW newest attraction?????? :confused3

What gives??? There must be someone on these boards who rode EE!!!

If you rode EE....TELL US mere mortals what it was like?

Thanks

There have been lots of threads on this topic (sorry no links) The DVCers and castmembers rode it during "soft opening". Including myself. (I work pt at DAK)

The ride is really thrilling and fun. Not scary. Smooth and fun.
****SPOILER*****
Forwards...pause for 6 seconds....backwards fast (in the dark and a surprise)....pause to see Yeti silhouette tearing up track......forward really fast and down out of mtn.....back in the mtn...meet Yeti....out of mtn...and back to station.

Great fun!

The family went on it twice in March and  it! They said it's not like your typical roller coastal, a little smoother ride. I think Disney definitely has another winner!

We really enjoyed it. It is a definite shot in the arm that AK needed. You can tell a big difference in the crowds there now. It is a smooth, somewhat fast and very thrilling ride. The stops have you anticipating, whats next? I am definitely looking forward to riding again!

I rode it twice, once in the very last row and once in the very front row. The front row is the best seat in all 4 parks!

Some tips:
A) Check for the single rider line. If this is open, check it out because there was absolutely nobody in it when I rode, and they use it to fill all of the single seats.

B) Attention Baby-Swappers: There is a viewing area near the exit where you can see trains going up (slowly) and coming down (quickly). You can get good video of the riders in your group from here if you tell them to wave wildly.

C) If you are doing the swap with younger kids, get fast passes and then one of you can take the kids to dinoland while the other rides. It is a really short walk, and the kids can ride Triceratops Spin or play in the Boneyard. After exiting, go across the bridge to Dinoland and swap there. (Hint: if you use the kids tickets for fast passes, you could each ride a couple of times in a row.)

Rode it 3 times in March It is a great ride ,very smooth and fun. The first ride up the mountain is really a thrill.

Rode it once last week. My kids rode it 4 times. The going so fast backwards made me feel very queasy, but a great ride, and themed like only Disney can do. My kids absolutely loved it, would have ridden more times if they could have.

We went on EE two different days during our Feb. visit this year for a total of 16 times :thumbsup2 .
I can tell you my son and I enjoyed it soo much!!
My youngest is 4 and too small :guilty: . He cried because he couldn't go on so I bought him just about anything he wanted in the gift shop to make up for the guilt of us still leaving to board this ride without him over and over again.
My Mom at a modest 61 years old had her hands up down the drop in the first row :rotfl2: ! I have the picture to prove it!
This ride is very well themed and is a twist of Big Thunder Mountain but a little more intense.
I didn't even mind waiting in the stand by lines either.
Word to the wise if you do Hold Your Ears!... the kids banging the bells overhead can get annoying.
The inside displays are interesting and keep you occupied while waiting to board.
PLEASE DON'T MISS OUT ON RIDING EVEREST IT IS AWESOME!!!

:goodvibes HAVE FUN :goodvibes !!!

Loved it, Loved it, Loved it! Rode EE 4 times in 1 hour in Feb. Definately a MUST DO if you like coasters. EE is like Big Thunder on steroids and VERY smooth!

We rode it last week. It was great. I loved it. It was fast and you go backwords and was all in all a great ride.

WOW!
We felt so lucky to be able to go on this ride before the official opening.
What is so cool about the ride, is that is is like NO other rollercoaster arround! Even the placement of the "big hill" takes you by surprise when you are riding it. (I won't spoil the exact moment when the hill hits you.)

Also, when your train comes up to the part where the tracks are all ripped apart, your train just sits there motionless for a while..... the suspence really gets to you!!!!!!! Then zoooooommmmmmm time for the fun surprise!!!!

I think everyone who is able to safely ride this, should give it a try!!! It's so much fun, and not overly scarey at all!!

HAPPY RIDING TO ALL FUTURE RIDERS!!!

I saw the making of this over the past few nights on tv. I noticed the part when it stops and goes backwards. Once going backwards, how do they get you going in the forward direction again?

Craig,

There is a portion of the track that rotates around and reverses so that you can go forward again. The discovery channel is doing a 4 part series on the creation of this ride ... last night they discussed this part of the ride.

Would it be too much for a 5yo girl? She didn't care for dark rides when she was 3. Maybe DH and DD8 will have to go on it first to get an idea!

Does anybody know if EE is part of the Extra magic hour for resort guests. Can't wait, we will be there monday along with half the country (Spring recess)

We were just on EE this past weekend, even my DH who is not a thrill ride kind of guy, LOVED it. Be sure to take in your surroundings while in the que. I rode two times right in a row on 4/8. Press was there all day, so the park was busy, but we had our FP, and had no wait at all!!!
