We are planning a trip in Dec, 4 adults and 1 junior. We plan to stay at the All Star Movies and buy 7 day park hoppers. I have been eyeballing the Fairy Tale special and am wondering if it would be worth it to change our plans. We do have Disney Club, but I haven't made our reservations yet (still waiting to see if National Guard son is getting redeployed in June). What exactly is the discount on 7 day passes with the Disney Club card? I can't seem to be able to find that information anywhere. The official Disney site has a lot of package information, but I have always been under the impression that the individual pricing was better (we don't need all the "extras"). Does the Fairy Tale package sound like a better deal?

For 2 trips within 365 days, the APs win, hand down. I have heard people also saying that would prefer hoppers over the package as well, because if you don't visit the parks every single day you are in WDW, you lose those day's ticket value forever. This is not the case with hoppers. For example, the tickets that come with the pkg are for the length of stay only. If you don't go to the parks the day you arrive & the day you leave, you lose those days forever. With hoppers, you only use up a day when you go into a park with it. Any leftover days can be used any time in the future. So, this pkg is a great value for a visitor who will stay about a week, and will not return to WDW. It is also good for people who wouldn't normally be able to afford a week long vacation at WDW. Therefore, you have to ask yourself....am I going back? You can call the DC to find out the discount on the passes. You can also get a discount on your room reservation with the DC. There is a toll free # for them. I am sure someone on these boards can give it to you. Whatever you decide, have a great time! Hope your son can go-maybe he can get tickets and a room discounted at Shades of Green?

I was wondering if it would be a better idea to change our travel date to October instead of waiting until December if the Fairy Tale was a good deal.

fran, I had also considered getting the hoppers because my husband and I are seriously considering getting APs next year (we plan to go back in July and then in February 2004) and we can use the "plus" features left over on the hoppers. I don't think we will be able to use all 4 "plus" features on 5 tickets in December, so those will still be available to us in July and February.

The more I think about it, the more I think we will leave the plans as they stand now and go in December.

You won't want to miss all the wonderful xmas decorations you'll see in Dec. as opposed to going in Oct.

You should be able to find some good rates for Dec. They will prob have AP rates coming out for then or you could even check Expedia. We got a great rate from them last Sept room and uph. Our room was close to 45% off.
We would have done the FT package this Oct but we bought dvc so we are staying on our points and planning to get PAP's so we will be able to get in 2-3 trips.
