I want to pack them in a 6 pack soda cooler bag for our flight. Do you think this will work? The TSA web site says to pack them in a pouch or bag.

What have others packed their Diabetic Meds and supplies in?? They really add up to a big amount of stuff.

That should not be a problem.
The idea on the TSA website is that it's easier for them to screen if all the equipment/items are together.

I put all of my son's medical stuff in one carry-on case - and it takes up the whole case. He has items that are over the 3oz. limit so those go in there. I tell the screener when we get up to the x-ray machine that THIS case has medical items for a diabetic child that are over the 3oz. limit. Usually they have us put the case through the x-ray machine. Sometimes they open and hand inspect it on the other side.

I am careful not to mix anything else in with the medical supplies. But I consider juice boxes part of his medical supplies (for treating lows) - stuff like that goes in that case. Never had a problem.:thumbsup2

I want to pack Special K Breakfast Bars for lows. Also low calories!! Always a good point.

Juice is just, too, much sugar for me. I get loopy and feel unsteady on my feet, especially with apple juice, not good at all. Plus they remind me of Rice Krispy treat so I can skip the real thing at DL.

I pack in several units.

I pack supplies I'll use for my son during the flight in one ziploc. In the early days of 311 I declared it. I've found that's not necessary.

His Lantus is in a Medicool pack. Again no need to declare. They're used to that.

Most of his supplies I pack in an old lunch box from our kids' youth. I choose that as it's the most convenient in the room/villa.

I pack a small cooler with the food and drink he'll need for the flight. I do declare that and as early and often as possible. It includes a small juice in case of reaction.

Every airport is a bit different in our experience. Just work with them and it will be fine.

I packed a separate bag with my diabetic meds, my glucose tablets and my asthma meds, and my daily meds. Plus a box of Special K Bars and box of Star Crunchs.

I warned our airport, they wanted the bag laying down flat, easy to do.

I warned LAX, they said ok and the worker laid the bag flat.

I had to use my glucose tablets 2 time I had low bloodsugar of, 40 and 70. Both times I recovered well. Next trip I'm taking small cans or boxs of cranberry juice to help get the bloodsuger up.
