Hartford, CT to MCO? Which Airlines?

So far, our search indicates that Southwest offer the lowest fare (210 per person) and multipel flights per day for early August.

Just want to make sure we're not overlooking other airlines. We're looking for direct/non stop flights only, preferably on bigger planes. We're not looking for the cheapest fare, but the overall best experience (price and service).

What airline do you fly with from Hartford, CT to MCO?

Thanks

We fly Southwest, primarily because they offer better earlier flights to MCO.
JetBlue also offers nonstop service BDL/MCO with 2 flights daily each way. Delta has limited nonstop service [weekends - maybe only Saturday] with one flight out around 8:00 AM and a midday return to BDL that leaves MCO around 11:40 AM.

SW - i love that i can cancel and rebookwithout any fees. that has come in handy more than once!

Thanks,

It's really hard to beat SW with their rates and 3 flights daily at various times of the day.

But with the lack of assigned seats, I am afraid our party might get split up.

We're traveling with 4 adults and 4 children ages 2-9.

Do you know which planes SW fly from Hartford to MCO? Boeing, Airbus, etc?

We use both SW and JetBlue out of BDL, I like JetBlue because I get to pick an actual seat, I like the fact that there are TV's as well, makes the time go by quicker, but JetBlue is famous for changing flight times especially the later flights and its never in your favor . . .:) JetBlue seems to come out with their flight schedule before SW.

Southwest usually is a bit less expensive than JetBlue, flight times are rarely changed and you accumulate points towards future flights, also, its easier to change flights when cheaper rates come out.

Sometimes I book one airline down and another one back, I'm constantly checking and rechecking the rates.

I believe they are boeing, 3 seats on left, aisle, 3 seats on right

Thanks.

Did some googling and looks like majority of their planes are the 737-700.

We have done jet nlue our past 2 trips. And yes the flight time changed since we flew, heck it changed last year twice on the return and one on the flight going down.

Go to seat guru and it will tell you about the seats.

Thanks, I definitely do not want to deal with flight time changes. It would be different if i was a single traveler, but planning a family trip I rather not deal with any unexpected complications.

We always fly SW. If you are traveling with children 4 and under in your family, you will board between group A and B, unless you are in group A. I flew with 2 adults and 5 kids last year and we were able to get early B boarding tickets and seats next to or behind each other. I almost booked JetBlue this year because the schedule was out earlier and I am so glad that I didn't because the times changed by 6 hours and I like to stay as late as possible (1 PM DOES NOT WORK for us). I have never had a change like that on SW.

We used to fly Southwest but on our last trip we flew JetBlue and loved it. Southwest usually has cheaper fairs but we prefer having assigned seats and we love that each seat has inflight entertainment. We are using JetBlue again for our upcoming trip and the cost was not much more than flying Southwest.

One thing we have found using JetBlue is, at least so far, when they the flights have opened up is usually when we have found the cheapest prices. Not sure if that is the rule with them or not.

Luckily ours weren't too bad. My husband was less then thrilled on the return though & I was jumping for joy!!

Our flight originally was leaving around 7 and we are about 50 min south down Rt 9. But it changed to 8:30 am which worked out great.

Our return was originally in the 5pm hour & then it changed to 6 & when it changed to 7:30 all I thought about was the pool all day!!

I like to pick my seats so as a family I wouldn't do southwest. My anxiety would not be good with anticipation.

We usually fly SW to Disney since they have a very early nonstop. JetBlue's flights to MCO are not the greatest times. We were booked on JetBlue for our return flight in Aug (SW times aren't up yet) since we like to have the speedy security in Orlando. Well that really didn't work out. Our flight was for 8 p.m. and JetBlue just redid their schedule and the flight is no 2 in the afternoon - a 6 hour change!!! Their return flights are now midmorning or the early afternoon. I called JetBlue and even the agent I talked to was amazed by the huge time change. Since it is over the allowed 2 to 3 hour time we were given a full refund and will book SW on Mon.

I do like JetBlue, it seems to look nicer.

But their prices now are pretty out of reach compared to SW. It's almost 400 per ticket for early August.

Also, JetBlue hours are a little too late in the day. We would lost about a day of our vacation time flying JetBlue.

Have you looked at white plains? I know parking isn't great but my aunt told me about parking at SUNY and they shuttle you to the airport...I actually looked it up.

No we have not, but White Plains is going to be about a 2 hour drive away from us. BDL is only 20min. We probably don't want to drive that far.

Oh ok. Are there any other smaller regional airports you can look into? Not sure where you are. What about Newburgh,ny? And I just ready about an airport in mass but I can't remember the name, but it's a smaller one.

White plains is about 90 min from us but I have family/grew up about 1/2 hour away so I always check because I can stay at my moms if I need to.

Maybe thinking Worcester. They now have Jet Blue. Only one flight to and from Orlando per day though.
