Harry Potter or Twilight Series? If You've Read Both, Which One?

Harry Potter. I loved all the books. I read the first Twilight book and it was bad. I never bothered with the rest.

Harry Potter. It's actually got higher meanings and themes and complex yet coherent plots.

Twilight is just about the worst book I've ever read. I got through Twilight and New Moon, but by Eclipse I was sick of Stephanie Meyer and her God-awful writing skills.

i love harry potter. but its a long, deep, dark, involved story.

i like twilight. its a short, easy, fun read (yes it has dark parts, but not like harry potter does.)

i love harry potter when i want a magical adventure, i love twilight when i want a fluffy love story. :confused3

They are not comparable at all. It's like asking whether RC Cola or Champagne tastes better. Two completely different drinks, though one clearly is in a class by itself.

Harry Potter is the superior series from every angle...story, writing, theme, characters. Champagne.

Twilight...err, RC Cola, has it's fans, and it's place.

What she said!! :thumbsup2

HP= instant classic, will still be read 100 years from now.

Twilight= fluff romance for tweens and teens, won't hold up in the long run.

Harry Potter, no contest.

Ditto. Although I loved the Twilight books and read the whole series twice, HP is just so much more rich and complex, in both characters and plot. The series truly is an amazing breadth of work that appeals to all generations. Stephenie Meyer is a good writer, but JK Rowling is brilliant.

I tried reading harry poter but never could get into it. I loved Twilight though so I'd defenitly go with twilight :]

As much as I like Twilight, Harry Potter is the better series.

I really enjoyed both, and have read both series multiple times. They are completely different of course. Harry Potter would be my favorite.

i loved the twilight series(not the movies though),they were easy reads, but the kind i couldn't put down,i especially liked the last one.

Loved Harry Potter, Twilight (only made it through one book) was horrible. BTW, I LOVE to read (currently reading Stephen King's Under the Dome - very good).

Both are entertaining, but the Harry Potter books are better BY FAR!!

Harry Potter hands down! It's almost like you can't compare the two. I mean sure they are both fantasy, but Twilight really boils down to teen romance. The writing was bad and the story was hokey. Yet I really enjoyed Twilight series, couldn't put it down. I will say I thought the last book was terrible but the ending made it worth it.

Harry Potter had a lot more detail. It was a more compelling story. Though I have to say, it seemed to me like her later books were kind of an allegory for war and I think she used her platform as an auther to voice her opinions on the subject starting at about book 5. I mean that's her choice, it just got a little heavy for me.

Both books have their strengths and their weaknesses but I just absolutely loved Harry Potter.

I loveee both. But I have to go with Harry Potter on this! But if you asked which fictional character I'm most in love with, it would have to be Jacob Black. :lovestruc

read both, harry potter hands down is better written and a better story. twilight was okay, not great, but decent mind-candy.

Harry Potter definitely. If you are going to read a teen vampire series, I think Vampire Diaries has much better writing, but my kids don't agree. They prefer Twilight, probably because the books are really romance novels for teenagers.

Harry Potter is by far the best. Twilight is a good read, but it is not a classic. Harry will stand the test of time, both in story and in the skill of the writing.
