Are there any updates on the Park? Pictures of closings etc.? Does anyone know anything other than...

"There will be a Harry Potter theme park called the Wizarding World of harry potter?"

I want pictures...and design sketches...and assurances that I will be able to do some magic while at this park...I want Butterbeer and to take aclass with Hagrid...I want to make potions and wrestle with a plant that might eat me!...I want to do battle with a basalisk in the Chamber of Secrets...and eat in the great hall and duel slytherins! What is going on!

It won't be a new park,it will be going in parts of the Lost Continent at IOA with some new back areas of the park being added on.I was just at IOA this saturday for the last day of Horror Nights and saw a bulldozer moving some land behind the Flying Unicorn as well as some trees with markers. From what I hear I'll be around 2010 when this opens so I'm trying to put it in the back of my mind to avoid getting impatient.

I am planning to go to IOA in December. From what you saw, it sounds like nothing has been touched yet at IOA. Flying Unicorn was still operating? I heard that it might go or might be rethemed. How about the other attractions in Lost Continent - still operating?

Thanks.

Unless you know where all the new HP construction will be going you wouldn't have noticed anything.Everything was open and operating normally. As I said all I saw was a bulldozer behind a wall by the Flying Unicorn moving dirt and some marked trees. From what I hear this is a long term project that probably won't open until at least 2010.There's even been a rumor of the Hollywood Dream coaster they have in Universal Japan opening over in Universal Studios to keep attendance up until the HP project is finished. The Simpson's ride will also help with that as well as the retheming of Earthquake opening next month which will probably just be a new preshow with some changes to the ride itself with a new name.

We were there last week, and there was scaffolding blocking the front of DD. Is it being refaced for the HP project?

I had forgotten about that, the entrance of Dueling Dragons did have scaffolding in the front tower and the entrance to the castle was moved over to the right.

Yes, one turret of the castle has scaffolding over it, and the entire exit path of Unicorn has a wall by it. Also, some areas of JP, you can look and see earth movers, as opposed to the lush foliage that used to be there. Slowly but surely, it's taking shape.

I think that "Lost Continent" will be gone completely and replaced with the Potter Park. I realize that it will be "part" of IOA, but they have also said that it will be a "park within a park". At $256 Million instilation, it is already priced as another park would be. I am also doing my best to not be impatient, thank God I have a thread I can at least vent some of that Impatience into!!!

From what I understand, Poseidon's Fury and Mythos will remain as "The Lost Continent." Everything beyond that will be the Wizarding World.

That's nothing new for Universal. When you have a park that only has so much room all they can do is remove old attractions for new ones. Now taking out most of the Lost Continent is sad as it's a really cool themed area.
