This two aren't even closely comparable. But if I had to ride one of them over the other, Gringotts for sure!
I know but they are the two rides in the Disney/Universal parks that consistently get the longest wait times. (100 minutes and above usually every day). I enjoy both of these rides and wanted to see what will win, even if they are vastly different. Just for discussion.

There are probably hundreds of roller coasters in the country with a similar ride experience to Slinky (obviously almost none having theming as cute, however). But Gringotts is a truly unique experience.

I don’t think they’re remotely comparable but I prefer slinky. I prefer real coasters to screen rides so it’s not really a fair fight for me. Yes, Gringotts is a basic coaster as well but relies mostly on the screens.

Granted I think my vote was slightly biased because my only time on SDD was almost 2 hours post lunch and I still felt nauseous afterwards, but Gringotts. It’s one of the best rides universal has (even with the bad Hermione voice)

Maybe a more similar comparison would be to Rise of the Resistance—detailed queue, multiple ride mechanics in one, the ride tells a story, etc. So maybe the question is why Slinky's wait times get so long...

I often forget that Gringotts is actually a coaster, since after that first rush, it slows down, and you're having more of experience, Until the end again. I do like Slinky, it's such a fun, sweet coaster, and more thrilling for the little ones than say Seven Dwarves.Last Disney trip, got in line about 4 mins before closing, not much of a wait, and SO fun at night. but Gringotts as an experience wins this round. From entering the queue, until the finish, it's so unique and fun!

Slinky is a fun coaster but it's a basic coaster. Gringott's theming is great, the queue WOW. While I wouldn't even try to compare them, I picked Gringotts.

Now if we want to compare within a theme ~

Harry Potter
1) Hagrids
2) Gringotts
3) Hogwarts Express
4) Forbidden Journey

Toy Story
1) Slinky Dog
2) Buzz Lightyear
3) Toy Story Mania
4) Aliens

You'd be surprised. A family coaster with cool theming, some thrills and a launch? Ummm, that's a very short list. It will have Slinky on it, Hagrid's, and, well ... that's about it. Those are far and away the best family coasters I've been on - there's not even really any competition for them in North America.

It is rather odd to compare it to Gringott's, though. As we know, that is technically a coaster, but most folks, and even most coaster enthusiasts, don't really view it as such. It has far more of a foot in the traditional "dark ride" category. That's really what it is; IMHO it has more in common with the Haunted Mansion - Disney or Knoebels, either one - than Slinky.

A more apt comparison is of course Hagrid's. Of the two, although we love Slinky, Hagrid's wins hands down.

No, that's not really a fair comparison at all either lol. Are you kidding?

I got criticized enough for making that comparison already lmao. It wasn't even close (Obviously).
