I know but they are the two rides in the Disney/Universal parks that consistently get the longest wait times. (100 minutes and above usually every day). I enjoy both of these rides and wanted to see what will win, even if they are vastly different. Just for discussion. This two aren't even closely comparable. But if I had to ride one of them over the other, Gringotts for sure!
You'd be surprised. A family coaster with cool theming, some thrills and a launch? Ummm, that's a very short list. It will have Slinky on it, Hagrid's, and, well ... that's about it. Those are far and away the best family coasters I've been on - there's not even really any competition for them in North America. There are probably hundreds of roller coasters in the country with a similar ride experience to Slinky (obviously almost none having theming as cute, however). But Gringotts is a truly unique experience.

No, that's not really a fair comparison at all either lol. Are you kidding? You'd be surprised. A family coaster with cool theming, some thrills and a launch? Ummm, that's a very short list. It is rather odd to compare it to Gringott's, though. As we know, that is technically a coaster, but most folks, and even most coaster enthusiasts, don't really view it as such. It has far more of a foot in the traditional "dark ride" category. That's really what it is; IMHO it has more in common with the Haunted Mansion - Disney or Knoebels, either one - than Slinky.
A more apt comparison is of course Hagrid's. Of the two, although we love Slinky, Hagrid's wins hands down.
