I am thinking of taking my DBF for a haircut there on our trip. He is always going on how he prefers old fashioned barbers to modern hair salons.

Had any adult ever gone there? Do they take adults? How much did it cost? Is it worth it?

Please share your experiences with me!

Thank you!

Yes, they do take adults. The adult cut currently costs $19. It's definitely worth doing at least once just for the experience of getting a haircut at the Magic Kingdom. :thumbsup2

I used to get my hair cut there when I was a CP on Main Street. Back then it was back behind Casey's.

Yes, they do take adults :) You can make an appointment on 407-WDW-DINE, Disney Vacation Club Member Services, or the lobby concierge at your Disney Resort Hotel. It's better to make an appointment as they can get busy and appointments are taken in first. The store is open 9am - 6pm daily. The experience is fun and a little different.
Adult haircuts are $19, Beard and mustache trims are $10 and Colored hair gel is an additional $5.

If you miss your appointment, they charge a flat rate of $10. They can't shampoo hair here, the best they can do is spray it using a spray bottle if necessary for styling. Also, while the haircut can be charged back to your room using your KTTW card, they can't include the tip. If you'd like to tip, this has to be done in cash. :)

I've gotten haircuts there several times. I need to go ahead and make my ressie for our December trip.

Okay, sometimes it is difficult to tell gender by people's "names/handles"

Are there any adult men on here that have gotten a Disney haircut and how did they enjoy the experience.

Thank you everyone for the feedback!

Thank you for that pricing info. I just might go ahead and get him that beard and mustache trim. Usually I am the one who has to do it!
;)

I'm female and I've gotten my hair cut there multiple times. I'm very non frills though just a straight cut it up above my shoulders kind of girl. I have definitely seen men getting their hair cut while I've been there, along with kids. I can't speak to their personal experiences, but the men seemed to have been happy from what I could see.

I've seen plenty of men getting their hair cut here, women too. :) Mostly though I've seen men and children. :)

My husband got his hair cut their a couple of trips ago. He enjoyed it. My daughter also go her hair cut at the same time. The pictures are adorable. There were other men and one adult woman getting her hair cut without kids while we waited. They were running a bit behind that day. I would say go for it. It is fun. If you go around noon, the barber shop quartet is usually there.

I wouldn't recommend it for women though as they can't wash. I know my hair at least isn't the type I would get it cut without a wash.

Yes, I know of at least 4 who have gone there.

Do they take adults?

yes, see above. I have no idea what they paid. I'd only try having them trim my bangs personally, but I have no idea what it would cost.

For me it just would not feel right without a wash! I think I will go ahead and do it for him! Both the cut and the beard trim!

I might try to get some glitter or color for myself.. dunno...

My son got his hair cut there just after he turned 14. They did a fine job, but they were a bit on the too-cautious side (most likely afraid to take off too much), so he ended up having to get it cut again fairly soon after.

Mainly we enjoyed the experience!

I HOPE they do not go too cautious with my DBF. He always delays his haircut for way too long and ends up looking shaggy as it is.

That is my regular barber shop, and I get my hair cut their about every four weeks.

One important thing to remember at the MK Barber Shop. When they removed the old antique cash register and put in a terminal to allow use of credit cards and hotel charges and the like they hooked into The Emporium's network. The register, unlike ones in table service restaurants, cannot handle tips as part of the transaction.

So if you are planning on using the Harmony Barber Shop please be aware that if you are using any sort of card you cannot add a tip on the card and should have cash available for tipping.

They stopped the colored gel a while back, to my knowledge they still aren't. I had booked my grandkids for haircuts, my SIL forgot and took the kids before the trip to the hairdressers. So I took grandsons place got my bangs cut and the CM put my hair in a ponytail. I have long thick hair and ponytails give me headaches typically. She performed magic! I kept it up all day and no headache!! My granddaughter has very thin hair :( but the CM made a bunch of small ponytails running into each other in a zigzag pattern. So cute. We both got pixie dusted.

DH always gets his haircut from Michel when we go. Too bad we can't make Michel his regular barber! One thing a lot of guests don't know is that you can make an appointment. No, they don't do shaves. Also love the pixie dust .
