Hard Rock, Portofino or Royal Pacific-which is your FAV and why?

I just am inquiring about the Universal Resorts and don't know much about any of them really. Only brief information. I would love to see some pictures of each resort and room choices. If anyone can help me out, I would sure appreciate it. THANKS A BUNCH

The Portofino looks beautiful.. They do need to upgrade their TV's though! (tiny)

We've stayed at Royal Pacific twice and Portofino Twice. While I love the RPR, Portofino has it hands down. There's just something about it that gives you a completely isolated feeling from the outsite world. They rooms are bigger since the property is bigger, quests are spread out more. At RPR they have the one gigantic pool that everyone flocks too. There are two pools that people use at Portofino.

Granted it's more moeny, for for us, it's worth it.

I have stayed at the RPR and HRH. I prefer the HRH - just a different atmosphere and its a little closer to the parks..., I do like the restaurants better, but thats just my opinion.

Stayed at the RPR 3 times, the HR 2 times and the Portofino once.

I like them all for different reasons, but my favorite was always RPR until last week when I went to the Hard Rock again.

I particularly love the short walk to the HR, it's the most convenient to Universal while the RPR is the closest to IOA.

I personally did not care for the Portofino though it IS beautiful.

They're all great so it's personal opinion.

Have to agree............I just returned yesterday and actually posted a thread , I cannot believe the quality of service, the cleanliness of the rooms and the all around atmosphere here, I always loved the Disney resorts but quite honestly the last few times I have had some issues, especially with housekeeping. I will defineately be going back to the HRH, my friends stayed at the RPR during the same time, and it is nice also but I still perfer the HRH.

We go often and rotate each trip between the 3. I think Hard Rock is the favorite overall but that's subject to change after each trip! The convenience of HRH gives it the upper-hand for us and we really love the cabanas. So for us right now its HRH, PBH, RPR but really they all have their charms and I rate them pretty equally.

Can each of the Universal resorts accomodate 5 people in one room? We are considering branching away from WDW on our next trip, and I know very little about Universal. We have always been a little limited in our choice of resort at WDW, being a family of 5. I would appreciate any feedback. Thanks!

Yes, all of the standard double queen rooms will accomodate 5 people (with a cot of course). At the Hard Rock, there are deluxe rooms that have two queen beds and a pull out sofa that make it really nice for 5 people. I think the deluxe rooms at PBH are similar.

My family and I all love RPR the best just because we love the scenary, and the people there are very friendly. RP has a nice pool, but we like HRH the best.Everytime we go to RPR we have to stay club-level, it's so nice.

PBH is a beautiful resort with a relaxing vibe, HRH is very nice with a bit of an edge. Can't go wrong with either....

PBH. Largest rooms, huge bathroom, beautiful resort, nice pool. We went in June, and then went back in October for HHN. The pool is dog friendly, they allow guests to bring their dog to the top deck.

i have stayed at all three but prefer the hrh the best.

hrh: love the short walk, secret walk way, to the parks. takes 2 minutes to get to the studios.
love the layout of the rooms, friendliness of the staff, helpfulness of supervisors there and the downstairs coffee shop.
prefer the smaller hotel.

pbh: love the size of the rooms. helpfulness of the staff.
only draw back is if you miss the boat, its a longer walk back to the room if you are in a hurry.

rph: beautiful lobby !
love the breakfast buffet they have. the area around it is gorgeous.
draw back is size of the rooms, did not find the staff coordinated as well as the other 2 hotels.

i always go during hhn time and prefer the short distance to walk from the hrh to the studios. not as fond of the kitchen resturant at this hotel but i can hop a boat and go to rph if i wish.

next year will stay at the pbh but this year already booked at hrh again.
