I am planning a trip to Orlando in August and want to stay at the Hard Rock Hotel, never stayed before. Any info I should know, which are the best rooms, any discounts, how are the pools ect. Thanks.

I have not stayed at the Hard Rock, but this site is full of information. I will be staying at PBH in April and stop by here to read up everyday.

We've stated at the HRH three times. Boy's are a bit older and they enjoyed it tremendously. The pool is great, if you are going for a longer stay you may want to consider renting a cabana for a day. We did last year because we were there during a more crowded time and you could come and go as you wanted without worrying about finding a place to sit. They have the beach club which serves food and drinks all the hours the pool is open.

They have activities poolside durring the day. (contests and races) At night (at least during our stay) they had dive-in movies which were a nice way to finish a day.

The onsite resturants are good..."The Kitchen" has kind of an eclectic style. The Palms is a more upscale steakhouse. (I have not eaten there yet)

We stayed on the fifth floor the first trip and stayed club level the last two times. Always requested a pool view room. You have a nice view of the parks.

I would highly recommend the HRH...It's relaxing but not stuffy.

We have been to Universal 3 times and are planning our 4th trip in October. We stayed at RPR the first time, and HRH the last 2 times. When I booked the vacation this year, my children (ages 11, and 8) begged for the HRH. It is usually just a little bit more than RPR, but it is worth it. We enjoy walking the trail to the parks everyday. It is really beautiful and very quick. The pool is great. We also get the All Access Pass from the Hard Rock Cafe site, and show that at check in and got a room upgrade both times! You will love the HRH!! Have a great trip. Universal runs a stay more, save more deal and also has a super saver rate. Not sure of the dates for these. AAA also gives you a discount on the rooms and tickets. AAA also gives you a 10% discount on restaurants in the park and most of the place at City Walk. If you try to see some of the discounts on the Loews website they don't show - like AAA. You may have to all Loews to see what the lowest rate is. We love the HRH and are going back in Aug. The pool is great - has an underwater sound system. The closeness to the parks is also great. You won't be disappointed.

Not sure about best room, but you could request close to lobby, elevators, high/low floor, etc. You could also look thru room assignments & see what other peeps have to say about their room/stay.

We absoultely LOVE HRH!!! We thought about trying PBH this time around and just pool hopping to HRH, but we spend so much time at the pool that it was really a higher priority than trying something different. The whole vibe of the place is amazing. From the pool, rooms, grounds, food, closeness to parks, etc., it's hard to beat, (for us). We have two boys ages 11 & 13, so this hotel is the best fit for our family.

For some reason, for me to get the "Stay more, play more" discount to come up, I have to litererally google that specific discount. If I just go to the Loews site and look at discounts, this one doesn't come up.

And yeah, the pool Rocks!!! Huge water slide that is open and twists, underwater music, sandy beach, hot tubs, cabanas, activities/dive-in movies, etc. The staff was super friendly and very accomidating with requests and answering a plethera of questions we had. Just super!!!
