My DD will be 8 when we go to WDW next august so thinking she may enjoy US more this time - she wasn't keen last year. As we are going for 3 weeks I won't have enough points for DVC for the whole time thinking of booking a few nights here.

I was wondering if it is to grown up for a 8 year old who's not into rock music? Also how is the pool- does it have zero entry?

Another question, last one - who do you book with to get the best rate as I am doing DIY?

I would say it is fine for kids of all ages - we are taking DD and she is only 4 - although a bit of a rock chick already.:cool2:

The pool does have zero entry as far as I remember.

We booked through Dreams Unlimited although we got the same price as on the Universal and Loews websites - only used them as we were changing to HRH from a cruise and it was easier to do this - otherwise we would just have booked direct with Universal.

We stayed at HRH for 4 nights at Easter and found it to be extremely teen-orientated - OK for us as my DS is 16, mad on electric guitars and loved all the rock memorabilia...

If your DD's not bothered by rock music, Claire, I would take a look at the Royal Pacific Resort. We went and had a mooch around there and thought it looked lovely...

We just got back from three weeks and similar to you booked it DIY (first DIY for us) and did 4 nights at HRH with 11 year old daughter. Whilst Hannah is not into rock music she though the hotel was cool (and cool it certainly was for a Dad who loves rock!). The pool is not to deep, clean and warm but cannot remmeber if it had zero entry.

They have plenty of children games around the pool in the afternoon and often have a big screen movie at the bar end of the pool.

in repsect of cheapest way to book, for us it was directly with universal. Pay one nights deposit up front and pay balance when you check out. The good thing is that if universal publush a cheaper rate you can change the booking without a admin fee. When booked starting at $1325 and changed the rate three times finally for $926 incl tax. Did try dreams but their price was $1500.

However Wayne did post some very cheap rsates with netflight or was it flightnet :confused3

Thanks for your views - I will have a look at Royal Pacific Resort too.

Get yourself there. The place is fantastic.

The pool is zero entry. We used all Universal pools last September and my 7 year old said that the HRH pool was the best. I knew already !

There is a beach next to one side, lots of games going on and just a big party feel at times.

Had a look at some pictures and The Royal Pacific looks very nice - reminds me of the Polynesian Resort. HRH sounds so cool though.

My DD8 loves, loves, loves the HRH :thumbsup2

She thinks the rooms are cool - because of the funky cushions (:confused3) & as for the pool & slide ..... couldn't drag her out. She's stayed in RPR too & prefers the HRH pool (because of the slide) - athough you can pool hop at the Universal resorts :)
