Hard Rock and more Newbie questions......

We are hoping to go to Universal/IOA prior to our WDW stay. We want to check into the Hard Rock Hotel on January 22, 2009 and check out on January 25th, 2009.

I consider myself a Disney whiz and have stayed at some pretty nice hotels on the cheap

But, when it comes to Universal I am so intimidated

Can you answer some specific questions for me?

Can I have 5 to a room at the Hard Rock?

What is the average price I will pay for a room during the time I am going?

Is the Kid Suite worth it? Cost?

How do I get the best rate?

Should I stay at one of the other two hotels to get a better rate?

Best/cheapest place to get 2 day/2 park tickets.

Any other suggestions

Yes, you can have 5 in a standard room at the HR. You might get a better rate at the RP, but I'd stick with the HR due to its location. Not sure on current rates, you can check the Universal site.

Best place to get tickets - the Universal website has the $79 deal going on right now.

We just got back from HRH and it was absolutely fantastic, one of the best hotels we have stayed at and that includes the Poly. The kids loved it and the proximity to Universal is wonderful. We stayed on Club Level and I think it was around $340 per night in early May but for us it was well worth it. It put the Poly to shame in terms of quality of the room and ther service provided by the staff.

It was one of the highlights of our six week US vacation.
