Anywho... our waiting-in-line-in-the-sun-with-twenty-other-scantily-clad-Britishfolks-cause-it's-always-British-day-at-the-water-parks...went like this:

Whyever not??? Could it be the fact that the staff had to stand on furniture and walls to get our attention, or the fact that we almost caused a small coup outside when they informed Jo that they wouldn't be able to sit us all together

I just figured you'd given up already. Turns out you're still writing this trash. Maybe that Barack Obama is on to something after all.

We watched the three kids playing in it along with what appeared to be the entire population of Delhi India.

Have you been to Jewish Delhi India? It's quite delightful. Not as scenic as New Delhi or even Old Delhi or Delhi-Upon-Avon. But the food is better.

Before the real crowds set in. And TL gets fetid and gross. NOTL.

We headed to our chairs and tried to decide what to get for lunch. We usually eat a Typhoid Tilly's. I think. It's called. It's the counter service place over by Shark Reef. It's hard to get a seat there when the park is really busy but the food is pretty good with something for everyone's different cravings. We've had chicken strips, the rib special, caesar salad with chicken, tuna sandwiches and hotdogs there.

So obviously now I have to go to Typhoon Lagoon so I can eat at Tilly's. On account of the tuna. But heaven help them if it's closed when I get there! I'll be madder than John McCain after he saw Sarah Palin's Neiman Marcus bill.

Calvin: I think they're genetically engineered. And then hooked up to a feeding tube in a labratory which gives them mayonnaise all day.

And then I decided to do something which was, perhaps, not the smartest thing I have ever done.

Interesting thought experiment. What is the smartest thing you've ever done? Run with the bulls in Pamplona in your 6" heels. Answer every question on your Geometry final with, "The proof is out there." Going to your senior prom with a vinyl dining room chair from your grandmother's basement. The possibilities are endless. Like your last there Trip Reports.

Did anybody else see the story on the meteor falling from the skies above Canada on Thursday and think it was really just a mishap at the Happyhaunt's Northwoods campsite?

Now. Loved your latest, Melly. Although.... I owe you a MASSIVE Crane Kick in the teeth for bringing the Typhoid Lagoon talk. And serving up the visual of the hairballs of humanity stuck in the wave pool drain.

That sound you hear? That's me dry heaving. At the mere mention of it.

Seriously. Nothing grosses me out worse than wet hairballs from the heads of random, unseen strangers. Pit hair doesn't do much for me either. For the record. And now, my beloved Typhoon Lagoon wave pool is forever married to the image of dirty drains clogged with stranger filth at the end of the day.

Two words. It's always been two words.

But other than that, I LOVED the latest chapter.

I turned, along with the elderly and the very young, and began running to the shore. Camera held high above my head. Way up in the air. As the roar of excitement from the brave wave riders... without cameras... was rising all around me. I was running... running... just as FAST as I could. Fastfastfaster. Fastererer.

Which was, in actual fact, very very veryveryvery slow. But still very fast. For water-running.

Because I was running in deepdeep water.

DED!!! This whole scene was hilarious as it unfolded in my head. I have no doubt whatsoever it was even funnier as it actually happened. Glad your camera survived. NOGloriaGaynor.

Calvin said he could go for a HUGE SODA. BIGSODA. Said my friend Barry White.

And we shared a huge Sprite.

What's up with the sharing of the drinks?! Next thing you know, you'll be telling me you only buy one refillable mug.

It was even better because we like to pretend to dip our chips in the other person's cheese pot. Just so the OTHER PERSON can say: HEY!!! DUDE!!! That's NACH-YO CHEESE!!!! NACH- YO CHEESE!!! IT'S MY CHEESE.

Mel, you know what's funny about this to me? It's that we do the exact same thing. I think DH is the one who actually started it. Of course. But...FREAKY BORG!

We should hang out. If for no other reason than the fact that I'd spring for drinks for everybody.

Me(l): Yeah. You're probably right. Also I'll bet they don't even have beaks or eyes, they're just huge turkey bodies attached to the tube and they never move they just grow bigger and bigger. Plus they have a whole bunch of legs like centipedes on their sides and you can just twist a leg off to cook... and another one will grow back in it's place. Like stone crab claws.

I've always thought the turkey legs looked gnarly in a bad way, and now I shall never ever eat one after this visual. Thanks Mel!

Oh, and I can smell the Poly just looking at that picture. That is one good smell. Let's hope Zzub never has a #4 at the Poly and ruins it for us.

I am only through 2 chapters, but I had to sign in...

I was following along on the ZZUB non-trippie and I saw that you were writing a new one...I didn't believe it. So...I actually paged down on the trip report section and saw it...so here I am!

So yesterday I met The General for lunch at Red Lobster. The restaurant is located roughly halfway between our two towns. Not unlike the haunted house which lies halfway between Stephanie Pepper and Tommy Tribble's homes in my absolute favourite Pop-up book. What I'm saying here is that I had about a half-hour drive and so did The General.

OMG...Mel! This is MY absolutely favorite book...and now my 5 year old daughter's favorite book (who keeps asking WHY the skeleton bouncing down the stairs is taped on and no longer "boinging" like it should on the spring). I CHERISH this book...when a child in my house tries to touch it I go all crazy on them.

Okay...back to trying to catch up - just had to post this though...who would've thought we would have the house between Sassafras and Lespedeza in common.

I LOVELOVELOVED A Visit To A Haunted House growing up. I used to read it over and over again. Couldn't get enough of it. At some point when I was older it must have gotten misplaced. I figured it was gone forever.

It made me sad. Especially when I had kids and would introduce them to old books of mine which I enjoyed and hoped they would too. I never came across it.

Then... during the writing of my first trippie here (which I DID... in fact...finish. NOMel) on the Dis. I mentioned that book. Because I like to stay on topic. U see. And someone FOUND it. For me. On EBay. What I'm saying here is that I've got a MINT copy of it.

Which I'm afraid to open. Never mind the kids.

Luckily I was so excited when it came that I had to call The General to share. And after a little discussion about how I always misplace things, forget things or just plain lose 'em. Such as about 50 hats and scarves, 3,000 single mitts or gloves, a bike, one Hugo The Man of 1,000 Faces (but this one I begged to differ. I think he disguised himself as mambypamby Ken and infiltrated Barbie's original Dreamhouse. And was never seen again. NONickCannon) one wallet with $20.00, my library card, a couple of retainers, the neighbours' bunnies, one skateboard, the red but not the blue Rock'em Sock'em robot guy, 100 assorted balls, other books, a pearl ring, my grandmother's locket, lotsa homework including one grade 5 Gourd Project... on the way to school... somehow, 2 birthday present Lemontwists, housekeys and half of my Dad's stocked bar in highschool, yada, blah etc. According to The General.

Anywho...

After that 10 minutes of pain. The General said this: I NEVER throw anything out. I'll find it.

And so she did.

Somehow my good 'ol General tore half of West Point's basement apart and found my original book. Along with another old favourite Pop Up Book about The Magic Kingdom. Also from the '70's.

Cool!!!!


So now I have all three. And my three kids love them too.

What I'm trying to say with all this is that I'm SO GLAD you posted that!!!!

That's so amazing cool.

Her name is Molly and she's two months old.

She's been keeping me very busy as I am attempting to train her using the Constant Supervision method.

And, also, she's very very very very very cute. And I'm enjoying every minute with her.
