Happy new Year and a Question about parking.

Happy New Year to all. Please understand this is only a question and not by any means a start of a rumor. On my last trip to WDW a few DVC members were discussing something about having to pay to park at resorts and also Vacation Club Resorts. I think a fee of $8 per day was mentioned. Has anyone heard or seen any documentation pertaining to this?

We were last there in March 2006 and I didn't hear anything about this. Would be interested to hear what others know.

Deluxe resorts charge a $7 per day valet fee for people who useit, but DVC members do not pay it at participating resorts. Could that be what they were talking about? I can't imagine WDW starting to charge a parking fee to guests since that is one of the perks of staying on property.

Even if you are a DVC member, you only get free parking at a theme park if you are staying at a WDW resort, on points or using cash. There have been some DVC members who thought just being a member entitled them to free theme park parking at all times. And some thought that it entitled them to free valet parking at all valet parking locations. Neither is true.

It hasn't been that many years since Swan and Dolphin starting charging parking fees to park. Perhaps that's the reference.
