Looks good so far!We did the Keys to the Kingdom tour on our anniversary trip and it was great but that Wild Africa one looks good too - decisions, decisions.............
I know it's hard to decide...I need to read up on them both a bit more and look at the pricing...don't think there are any AP or DVC discounts yet for the Trek...
When we went in Oct 08 they had a Haunted Carriage ride at Ft. Wilderness, it was based on the Headless Horseman storyline. Pretty cool.
Love all the little extras you are thinking of doing! I am with Heidi and voting that you should do the Wild Animal Trek! After all, Julie, it is the perfect time to do it when it is just you and Matt!

just read some of it...sweet things
love the schedule so far. don't you hate how there are so many nighttime activities and only so many nights to squeeze it all in? i hate that! I would definitely focus on doing the things you wouldn't normally get to do if you had the kids with you.
thanks...yes this is tough and why I have a lot open ended right now too
speaking of, the kids......they are gorgeous! what a beautiful family you have.
thank you so much!
on the tours- we did the Keys to the Kingdom tour and loved it. We learned so much and I thought i knew a lot already from here and from being a CM and going through traditions. but i learned more and it was really interesting. i am one of those that 'backstage' doesn't ruin it for me, just makes it all that more magical. You do go backstage briefly to see the parade floats and also into the utilidors, but you don't go far. i've done a tour at DL too and now i am hooked. any trip i take sans kiddo, i will definitely be scheduling a tour!
Love love the "Then and Now" pictures of the kids! Time certainly has flown by!! The twins will be teenagers before you know it!!
oh no don't say that...eek
Your touring plans look good. I definitely want to take advantage of Food & Wine. I've seen so many fantastic things about it that I want to partake!
me too...need Matt to look at the blog I found on it too to help make up a game plan!
Do you have any idea when the hours for October will be coming out? Is it usually six months in advance?![]()
Airfare booked
so yesterday I just left my house a little after 9 am and was going to be gone for several hours (which actually turned out to be almost the whole day) when I recieved a text on my phone...
weird who would that be...it was AMY my trusting Disney "travel guide"...letting me know Southwest Airlines opened their new dates/rates a day early.
I quickly texted back...saying oh carp I'm not home...unsure what to do and not wanting to miss out on a good rate or flight time, I called Matt at work and luckily he wasn't to busy and was able to book our airfare w/ me on the phone as I was driving...
so how did we make out
we have a 7 am flight out of Chicago on Sunday the 16th (first flight of the day) and a 8:15 pm flight coming home from Orlando on Thursday the 20th...
now the catch is I wanted to book the 2nd to last flight of the day for any weird unforseen delays...but that flight was at 5:20 pm...meaning we'd have to leave Disney (to catch DME back) just before 3:30 pm...pooey I didn't like that at all...was hoping for a 7pm ish flight home. So we just opted for the last flight of the day (8:15 pm) and hope for the best...we have never experience any serious delays yet....KNOCK on Wood!
the pricing was a bit higher than I'd like too...we are going for just over $ 600w/ the taxes and fees...
but anyways...just glad this part is done and now it is officially official we are going
J~
I booked our flights with Southwest yesterday, too! We've got a non-stop leaving Buffalo at 6am on the 7th, and a non-stop leaving Orlando at 7:15pm on the 11th. I also bought Early Bird Check In for our return, so our grand total was something like $670.
Yay for airfare!!I'm always happy to help, but Tracy gets the credit for this one.
Congrats on flights! It's really a bummer that we don't have SW within a hundred mile radius of us. Delta is the main carrier and we'd be lucky to get tickets for about $400 a piece!!
It just makes more sense for us to drive. We'll see about October. I haven't looked yet.
Hooray for being Officially Official!
Having airfare booked makes the trip so real! Congratulations!![]()
Yay for getting the airfare booked!! That's always a great feeling making the trip "real".![]()
Hurray for airfare being booked!!!![]()
Yay for airfare being booked!![]()
Congrats on getting your airfare!!! I love SW and they are definitely the cheapest option for us, but not cheap enough this year. I was a little sad to see our flights were $300 each and with 5 of us, that's not happening! I'm guessing it's b/c of the gas going up b/c last year those same flights were half that price when my friend went!
YES thanks to Tracy (Mickey_Mom) for first telling Amy who told me...![]()
