Happy Mickey-versary for 15 yrs! An Oct. 2011 PTR NEW: 11/13 Pretend Disney? & TRlink

All those little cakes are so CUTE!!! Love them!! I like the one of the combination of flowers and Mickey heads that you found on the foodblog! That is just WAY too cute!!! Off to read the blog you posted! I'm always interested in cake!!!

CAKE! :thumbsup2

We had a custom cake made at Chef Mickey's by Chef Brian for Savannah's 9th bday in 2009 and it was so special! We don't regret it at all and she still talks about that cake! (have I told you this before? I think I have) :p

Anyway, we paid $100, and I think this cake would be more now, Disney has started charging more for the custom cakes now that they are so popular, but I digress...

It was THE BEST cake I've ever eaten. Seriously. Ok, that may have something to do with the fact that I don't eat cake usually, so it was a treat, but it was amazing, filled with Bavarian cream and chocolate gnoche. OMG. I'm drooling!

Here's a pic:

It was Halloween themed, obviously! The details were amazing and it was HUGE.

The little tiered cakes are so pretty! I can't wait to see what you decide on!

Wow, time is just flying by! We definitely have to get together again before you go!

Love the cakes, all are very cute. We've never done a custom cake either but have had the Cinderella Slipper dessert which was yummy! Can't wait to see what you decide.

Funny, I've been eyeing the cakes a bit too... I've been so busy over the past few weeks that I had sort of forgotten that I wanted to order a cake! :rotfl:

I have no idea what we want but it would most likely be from the Boardwalk Bakery to pick up & have in our room for the five/six days we are there. And we'd have the boys to share it with us.

I'm curious to see what you end up deciding.

Those little cakes are so cute! The only thing we've ever special-ordered is the slipper, which was really good. There's no cake in it (at the GF), it's just chocolates and mousses though.

I'm not sure why, but the castle topper keeps making me think of the Little Mermaid, and King Tritons castle. It is a bit vague-looking .

that are quite cute :cutie: and yes you are probably right the castle topper is a bit vague...just be nice to have something Disney-ish on top

Julie, you are so creative with your family nights! Love the Star Wars theme and all the food and fun....nice job!

thanks, we had another one last night will post soon :thumbsup2

Yay...time to pack! So exciting.

good thing I did get started will be pretty BUSY leading into the trip now

I don't have much to offer on the cake front. I'm not a big cake fan and I've never ordered a custom cake. But...the little one with the yellow Mickey heads is cute!

yes I love the Mickey heads :thumbsup2

Hi Julie!

Ooh, it's getting close now. I can feel it in the air. The weather is starting to change here, and really begin to feel like fall. That just makes it one step closer to Disney for us!! 18 Days!!:woohoo:

yes it has majorly cooled down here too...coming FAST now :cool1:

I am afraid I cannot be of any assistance as far as the cake goes, but if opinion matters, I like the Mickey two tier cake. You can make it different colors, and it's playful but nice enough for what you want. I know that you will end up with the right thing.:goodvibes

thanks! let's hope I don't flub it up when ordering

Ride Kilijimaro Safaris

100_7307.jpg

Who doesn’t love this ride…but we’ll have to request an up front row for Matt’s sake…and I hope to catch a view of the Lion!

******************************************************************************************

Stay tuned popcorn:: I'll be posting about our latest Family night which took place last night for the just past mark of 20 days to go...

Hint: has to do w/ one of our FAVORITE Parks pixiedust:

The Safari is a fun ride! I've never caught the lion doing much of anything beyond laying around .

Can't wait to see your family night pics! Was this what the rice krispy treats were for?

I am looking forward to some fine signature dinning here and getting semi dressed up out of the usual Mickey shirts for an evening out together.

Our 20 days till Disney Family Countdown Night!

What better way to get ready for a trip to WDW then to celebrate the park that started it all…The MAGIC KINGDOM!

I set the table to become that most Magical place:

100_1180.jpg

Matt worked for days on constructing our own Cinderella’s castle and then I hunted through the house for little items/toys to represent many of the rides/attractions in the park!

100_1181.jpg

100_1193.jpg

We also had our versions of some class MK treats: Mickey Crispies and Dole Whips!

100_1207.jpg

Now take a tour around our mini MK and figure out which rides and attractions are represented.

For a hint: all the of the Fantasyland main rides/attractions are here, all of Adventureland, 1 from Liberty Square, 1 from “Main Street”, 3 from Frontierland, and 5 from Tomorrowland…plus 1 bonus…good luck! (oh the Mickey Ears are just for fun)
