Happy Mickey-versary for 15 yrs! An Oct. 2011 PTR NEW: 11/13 Pretend Disney? & TRlink

or at least her bouquet…

Last Friday I ran some errands (returned some tops to Old Navy and of course came home w/ more), plus bought myself a new pair of shoes (canvas All-Stars…what am I 10?) and then went into JoAnn’s Fabric store to pick up a few things to finish up the accessories for our costumes. I bought grey ribbon for Matt’s top hat…but it wasn’t wide enough, have to exchange…whoops. Some tulle and a hair comb to make a simple veil and flowers and ribbon to make my bouquet.

Now originally I didn’t even want to carry one, but Matt thought it would be a cool touch and actually he is the one who made it.

Here is the finished product w/ of course some lime green ribbons for that DIS touch!

But wait that’s not all…after all the Black Widow has something to hide…

This was so Matt’s idea to take this plastic ax of Nathan’s from an old kid play camping set:

And then I came up w/ the idea of “painting the roses red”

Here’s another “scary” look:

I really love how it turned out…from the one side you have no idea of the dark secret this lovely Bridal bouquet carries… :rolleyes1

But now I am worried…Ok I was worried before…I am positive I read “you can NOT bring weapons…pretend into the party” and then after re-watching some of the 9-11 programs yesterday it got me worried…my suitcase will get checked. :guilty:

It’s pretty clear it’s a child’s plastic axe hidden in a bouquet…but it’s an axe, a bloody axe hidden in a bouquet… :confused3

I am being neurotic for nothing…oh shoot…

I love the bouquet!!! If you are checking the "axe" you should be OK. You'd probably be ok carrying it on too but might get some questions! :rotfl: If you're worried, just stick it in a ziploc bag with a note on it that says it's a Halloween costume. I'm sure they've seen stranger things. ;)

As far as bringing a weapon into MK... It's not like you're bringing in a giant sword or something that you're going to be swinging around... oOJulieOo had some sort of weapon accessory a couple years ago when she & her friends dressed up as the Clue characters. Maybe you could PM her... you know her, right? Or you could post it on our facebook group... (LOL - not my idea... I saw that you just did that. ;))

I LOVE it! I think it will be fine, to be honest, they might not even notice and just see the flowers! I can't wait to see the pics of both of you all decked out! :thumbsup2

That bouquet looks awesome!!! I'm really not sure what the rules would be about bringing it in...but hopefully you are able to! I'd just keep it as obvious as possible that it's a toy (but I'm always overcautious about that kind of thing!)

I love the bouquet! You're not alone, I'd be panicking about being allowed to bring it in too. I know it's obvious that it's a toy and that it's for a Hallowe'en costume... but some security people are so jumpy. I really hope it works out for you!

You and Matt make a fantastic pair, creative to the core you are! Love love the bouquet. I honestly think it won't be a problem. I cannot wait to see it!

From previous posts:

ST is definitely on our list as well, we want to try and ride at at least twice, hopefully getting two different scenes. We'll see.:yay:

Julie, your story of 9/11 truly touched me. I remember exactly where I was and what I was doing, and it doesn't compare to the chaos you experienced. Thank God you had family close by and that you were able to get safely home, even if that wasn't the original plan. Being the daughter of a retired servicemember, I am thankful every day that he served our country, and I am also thankful to the millions of Americans who continue to do so.:grouphug:

No Rain, No Rain!! I truly do not want to experience HalloWishes that way, nor the parades, or DISmeets, for that matter.:goodvibes

I'll do a "no rain" dance for you!

:dancer::dancer::dancer::dancer:

awesome thanks :rotfl2:

yes I'll check it...though Matt keeps saying we should just wear our costumes on the plane...;) so a note on it is a good idea

the FB group seems pretty consistent w/ all of you thoughts too...let's hope it works out. I certaintly won't be swinging it around or toss to some lucky guest ;)

thanks...I hope so too...not going to try and hide it but not going to overtly show it...eek

That Matt is one creative guy!

that he is...wait till you see what he is working on for an upcoming Disney countdown night popcorn::

Love, love, love the bouquet!!! It's just perfect!

thanks Jackie...it is pretty cool!

I know I don't want to have to walk back to BLT if they don't let me bring it in...and thanks

Drawing academy

AnimationAcademy.jpg

I have only done this once w/ Bekah back during our 2009 trip…so Matt has never done this. I am looking forward to doing this w/ him…although I know his drawing will be better than mine. Wonder who we will get?

We are looking forward to the drawing academy as well and have never done it! Can't wait to hear all about it! :thumbsup2

I love the drawing academy, last year we did Angry Donald... so much fun!!!

Love your bouquet... can you imagine having to explain that to a TSA agent that doesn't know Disney.... maybe you can ask for and agent that does :lmao:

I bet both your drawings will be super! :thumbsup2

thanks

Mickey Meet and greet

MickeyWDWnewhome.jpg

I love meeting Mickey and really you just have to have a little face time w/ the Big Cheese at least once every trip right ;) I am looking forward to checking out his new theatre digs and maybe go see him again decked out in his Halloween Costume…what fun. :thumbsup2 If you didn’t know I “collect” family pictures w/ Mickey in his different costumes…

If any of you are going in October or to MNSSHP must know the map was posted for the party already...

http://www.easywdw.com/news/2011-mickeys-not-so-scary-halloween-party-map/

and the 1st party was yesterday...I have been following my sources so I can plan my Character Search and other party particulars to have a better touring plan in the works...

I checked out one Disers Live 1st night thread which also led me to her character blog:

http://unofficialdisneycharacterhuntingguide.blogspot.com/

from here I have taken my printed B&W copy of the map and have made some notes:

100_1082.jpg

am I overplanning? :rolleyes1

Matt and I are exchanging emails this morning about which characters we'd like to see...neither of us want to stand in super long lines for them...but this is a special night w/ special characters out...and we both are ready to have some FUN! :cool1:

On our short list are:

the FAB 5...which seems to be just Mickey/Minnie in Town Square Theatre (been told they are dressed in two outfits...so not sure if that means two locations or they chnage in the night...)

and Donald and Daisy which are at thr Adventureland Gazebo (which is?) and not to be confused w/ the Liberty Square gazebo...

Pooh and friends...location on Main Street near flag pole

7 Dwarfs at the Splash Mt exit

and maybe then some of the villians and/or other misc characters like Tarzan and friends...seems the characters not in the Villian Mix and Mingle are on the hub near Adventurland and maybe come and go...and Tarzan and friends are in the Adventureland Veranda..I think that would be right over the bridge upon enerting this area from the hub...right :confused3

Now Matt also says he wouldn't mind seeing Tink since he has a crush on her  or any of the bad ladies...I think the Step Sisters would be a hoot to meet w/ how we'll be dressed...

I'd love to see some of the Princess/Prince duos...but it seems like too much... ARE the princes only out at the parties and not regular park times?

not exactly a character meet/greet I want to get our photos by the Cinderella Coach (Fantasyland Skyway...so do they not have the stroller parking there then to fit this?) and of course the HAUNTED CARRIAGE...sweet maybe people will want our signatures :rotfl: and chat w/ the HM ghost out front...

Now here is a basic plan of our night...

* arrive sometime after 4 pm

* do a few rides and get a few PP pixs (wonder if we can do the photo ops ahead of party time )

* have DISmeet planned at 6 pm at the Peoplemover

* then party time :cool1:

* see Hallo-wishes at 9:30

* see Boo to You Parade! at 10:30 (another Dismeet)

* more Party time :woohoo: to 12 pm

so how would you order the characters and when...:confused3
