We're going in October as well, but with the whole family. Even though we're celebrating 20 years this year, we have to wait until 2/2012 for our Anniversary trip. I'll be getting lots of ideas from you, hopefully!

I am a big sappy, gooey mess after reading your story about ending up with Matt! That is the stuff of a good romance film, I tell ya! Love, love, love it! Ate up every last bit of it! Not to mention how much I love that your first date was to go see Aladdin! Adorable! (Side note: Our first date was to see The Fugitive with Harrison Ford. )

aww you're too cute...periodiclly Matt and I will watch Aladdin w/out the kids but I have to admit the first EVER movie Matt and I saw together was before we were dating and we saw Silence of the Lambs and of course we keep "the lotion in the basket"... we saw The Fugitive at the show too

aww thanks...it has been a good reminder of sorts how sweet our story is...when over the years various things can make times rough...this is why I CAN"T WAIT for this time together

aww thanks! I have a post coming up about the kids soon, but for now the twins are going on 12 this Spring (in 6th grade), and my middle DD is 8 (2nd gr) and my youngest is 4 (in pre K)

we really should meet can't be any eaiser since we are at the same resort I had so much fun meeting Disers in Nov.

so the refurbed rooms...Ok I admit i don't know that much about them, but when i called to make our Jan 12 ressie asked. The CM actually put me on hold called BLT and said they started the refurbs in oct last yr and should be all done in early April. I didn't think to ask if they are being done or just some...but I assume only some since it's a room request not a room type like I can be guarenteed a dedicated 2 BR. I also know there is no point difference from standard studio to the refurbed or "deluxe"...I ahve been meaning to look around on the DVC-BLT threads

Planning it out…

What have I done…literally nothing (ok so actually just in last few days I have been getting ready w/ emptying my past two trips out of my planning binders and starting to talk that ”fuzzy Disney math talk “w/ DH)

I really haven’t done much except to pick our dates: October 16-20th and booked a ressie in our home DVC resort Bay Lake Tower at CR…we had originally planned to try and do a ressie switch to BWV at 7 months out…but now have decided to just stick w/ BLT…we LOVE it there (only took one stay)

Matt and I have chatted about dining, extra things, attending MNSSHP (and the costumes we will wear) and just some other basics…but no real planning has taken place.

So this PTR will get my but in gear (because as you may or may not know I also have another trip in the works our next Family trip in January 2012)

What do I use to plan?

My Master plans and all things Disney binder:

Front cover (a drawing my DD Rachel made awhile ago, it’s just so cute I don’t want to change it)

Back cover (a collage of the resorts we have stayed at over the years…need to update now w/ BLT)

In here I have maps, Travel info, Resort/DVC info, packing lists, DDP info and Menus, Touring Plans info, extra stuff-the little things, and other Mouse-cellanous things

My Pre-Pre Planning Notebook:

This is where I start jotting down notes, ideas, pricing, etc to use to help formulate my plans

My Trip Organizer:

This is where I put my Itinerary pages and touring cards and other pertinent trip info to TAKE w/ me on the actual trip

And the “BOX”

Yes I am a box girl…the inspiration really came from my uber planning Diser friend for life MRYPPNS (Heidi) and this old diaper box has been converted…not much in here yet for Oct. I basically have any Disney travel things in here and will go through it in a few months and weed out what I don’t need for Oct. and start to put in things as I buy them. So stay tuned for changes!


I also count on you my fellow readers and my Diser friends to help me out w/ stuff

And I love reading and getting tips from various Disney sites, FB, and Blogs.

Plus I have a growing collection of Disney guidebooks and other fun Disney themed books:

I've got a few diaper boxes that I could convert..... Maybe after the April trip we'll find some things to put in it for the baby and us! Speaking of which, we've hit the 30 day mark!!!

We haven't booked our dates or train tickets yet...we have some flexibility but are thinking mid-to-end of January. We can't reserve our resort until June but I may go ahead and purchase our train tickets really soon since Amtrak fares only increase the closer to the date but they are fully refundable so I can easily change in June if/when I need to.

If we overlap at all, we need to meet up again! Rachel will be so excited when I tell her you might be going the same time. She already asks me if we are going to meet up again in May (she now thinks you'll be there every time!)

Sun 15- Thurs 19th at BLT have a 2 BR dedicated booked already...we chose that over the following week this way the kids only miss 2 days of school vs 4...since we have MLK off and a teacher day that Tues each school yr. the crowd levels will be a bit higher...but if we can do T-giving this will be just fine.

thanks, it does help get into the mood...I did my first cover for the Spectrum Mom's trip. I actually just did the cover yesterday...sadly besides my little Christmas 2010 album that is the only scrappin I have done yet this yr...
