OK so without turning this into an advertisment, I don't want to break any rules here.... Anyway, I am an Avon Lady... Yea I know I have heard all the jokes before... I have been selling Avon for 9 years now... Ok so... Avon does HUGE things for Breast Cancer awareness and special Care Packages sent to our troops in Iraq and even the Tsunami victims were sent money, supplies etc..

ok so here's the vent.....

I got an email from my Avon head quarters like I am suppose to be proud that Avon is sending the Red Cross $250,000 to go to the Katrina Relief fund...

ok yes $250,000 is nice and will help out but HELLOOOOOO ????? Avon makes billions of dollars a year and all they can send is $250,000.... I don't know if I should feel Happy or sad about their $250,000....

oh and by the way we are also going to be getting special gift sets that for $10. Our customers can send a toiletry care package and maybe phone cards or something to Victims... Plus $4 of the 10 goes into a $ donation fund for them...This almost makes me cry because I know darn well that Avon is probably making some kind of profit for this somehow.... although the email said 100% goes to the victims fund...

My company sent out an email the other day saying that they were donating 1 million dollars plus matching what we contribute. I felt like you did. 1 million dollars is all they could come up with when they are in the Forbes top 5?

Today they sent out an email stating they were contributing an additional 5 million. Plus one million dollars which is the matching amount. Then they added in the million we contributed for a total of 8 million. Much better.
