I have a reservation with Happy Limo for this Friday. They've said that due to construction, their drivers are unable to meet us inside and that we will have to meet them outside. Is that true for all limo companies?

We have always met Happy Limo outside the semi-circle in front of the Hyatt. I don't know if that's normal but its where we have always met them.

Tiffany Towncar has always met us inside the airport, near the escalator that takes you down to the level where baggage claim is.

Still doesn't explain if this is something new due to construction. Just for kicks I'd call another company and see if they say the same thing. I was there in March and don't recall any construction around MCO but that was 2 mos ago. Things change. :goodvibes

And I just got a confirmation today from another car service (they that shall not be named on the DIS):goodvibes and it says they will meet us at the bottom of the escalator at MCO, which is what I have experienced in the past as well.

But of course my reservation is not for this Friday.

I called Happy Limo. They said that I will be able to meet our driver inside but that people flying into concourse/terminal B have to meet their driver outside due to construction.

I work at MCO...I wonder what construction is going on besides work on the escalators and bathrooms...Granted I mainly stay on the A side and rarely venture to the B side, but I am not aware of any major construction

We arrive at MCO on Thursday morning . . .our driver is meeting us at the bottom of escalator like normal . . .We were just there in April, I hadn't noticed any construction? :confused3

Where are you arriving at?? On Side A? Other than that, why can you meet the driver inside but those arriving on Side B have to go outside?? It just doensn't make sense to me.
And as far as towncar drivers can go inside but not limo drivers??? What's the difference. I know that that other thread was about Happy Limo as well. I think I would find another car service. I mean seriously....these drivers are supposed to help you with your luggage. Otherwise, why not just grab a cab?? If I have to lug all my luggage outside, to who knows where, to meet my driver, then why bother. With that kind of service, you are now paying for just a ride..no extra help.

Agree 100%! One of the advantages to having hired a car is to have them help me with my bags, especially when I traveled alone with a small child. I think either 1--they are being lazy, or 2--they have done something to aggravate the airport personnel, or 3--they might have to pay for a parking spot.

Coming down the escalator and seeing your name on the sign being held by the driver is special. It makes me feel like my vacation has truly started.

Also, do you really think someone of a higher status (athlete, etc.) would schlep their own bags outside to their limo? Not!

Just wanted to update on this. Our driver was able to meet us at the bottom of the escalators when walking toward the baggage claim. They said in one terminal, they can't go inside but the other they can. We were very pleased with our drivers both ways and had a great experience.

Sorry, but this is VERY fishy and I would recommend not using a car service who feeds you a line like this.

As someone who flies in and out of there a lot and uses both A and B, there are drivers meeting guests on BOTH sides. This makes no sense and makes me :confused3
