"Happy Graduation, We're going to Disney World!" - A May 2011 Pre-Trip report

I've only just gotten into PTR "following" :rotfl:...may have just "followed" a few posts from your PTR :rolleyes1...can't wait to read the rest!

I've got a birthday just over a month away (June 14)...I wonder if I could claim I'm celebrating my birthday on my trip...... We'll see...Anyway, where I was going with that was...I might be able to ask for $$$ to go towards my tattoo for my birthday, and if that's the case it might get done a lot sooner than I think. I'll be sure to post pics once it's done! :thumbsup2

I think you should totaly celebrate your birthday while you're there! We celebrate our anniversary (which is actually 5/19) on each trip (even though we're never there on our anniversary - granted, this next trip just barely misses it).

You should totally celebrate your engagement too! :thumbsup2

Perhaps you'll be "gifted" with funds for your tattoo! Can't wait to hear more! popcorn::

It's update time!!!

I got my final installment of Mickey Mail on Friday :woohoo: The new luggage tags are a lot nicer in person than they appear to be in the pictures you see around here on the DIS. I'm not sure if I like them better than the old ones though.

So I just found out yesterday that my brother will be flying down to Orlando on May 30th, and he'll be leaving on June 3rd...so that's kinda cool! :) He has 2 days left on a no expiration WDW ticket, so he'll be using that, which means we'll probably get to meet up with him at the parks! But he's also renting a car for the time he's there, which means there's a very good possibility that we can sneak off the WDW property for a day and go to Islands of Adventure to see the Wizarding World of Harry Potter :woohoo:  :dance3: :cheer2: :yay: :cool1: :woohoo: and one more  I followed the construction on that "park" from day one, so if we can go I will probably cry when I step foot in Hogsmede.

Because of that potential deviation it means we'll loose one of our ADR's. Yes, I'm a little sad about that, but the prospect of Harry Potter greatly outweighs one meal. So far we're thinking that IoA day will be May 31, which means we'd loose out on Akershus.

I don't really have much else to update on right now. It's only a quick update because I'm headed to work in about 10 minutes. I hope everyone's planning has been going well! :goodvibes I've been a bit too busy to check in on everyone's PTR's for the past few days, but soon I will get a chance to get caught up. :thumbsup2

(only 19 more days! :yay:)

glad you got your tags finally!can you believe we only have 19 days ,AHHH,I know we are excited too.We will be at Universal on the 31st.Might sneak over to IOA in the evening ,we have a reservation for Margaritaville that evening though so can't stay too long.We are doing a full day at IOA on June 7th.Love reading about all your plans.Come on May 27th hurry up.lol

Hi Silverhaze! I definitely agree with Lidian, you should celebrate your birthday/anniversary while in WDW. I believe you get special :wizard: treatment when you wear your special occasion button. We are celebrating DS bday on our May trip and his real bday is in March. I know it is a bit of a stretch, but anything to make it a more magical trip.

I love the tags more than the old ones, but I like the old bands better. These new bands are too hard and stiff. :sad2: I may just get some pretty ribbon and tie our tags on (not that we need them, since we drive, but they're nice keepsakes).

I hope you get a chance to check out HP! There was a group of us who all swore we'd be there on opening day, but plans just fell apart. :sad1: Maybe one day I'll get over there to check it out!

TK and I share a brain. :thumbsup2 And while the extra pixie dust shouldn't be expected, its wonderful when it happens! :cloud9:

DD had a birthday pin on at Les Chefs de France, and they sang her a birthday song in French - and also brought her 3 different desserts. :lmao: She didn't like the first one, the second one they realized she couldn't eat (ice cream), so they brought a third in hopes she could enjoy it. (She has a dairy allergy.)

If we go, we plan on being there from park opening till around when it closes, so maybe we'll run into each other...you just never know :thumbsup2 I'll still have my LGMH on my bag somewhere in case there are any other DISsers around there that day.

I'm totally going to get a birthday button now, after knowing that you don't have to actually be there on your birthday to celebrate it while you're there. I'll have 2 buttons...it should be fun! :)

I had planned to be there on opening day too, when the "park" was first announced, but realized that couldn't happen about a year before it opened.

That sounds like fun...now that I plan on getting a birthday button maybe I'll have them singing happy birthday to me in Hawaiian or something  (we're eating at 'Ohana one night)

I can't contain the excitement any longer...only 12 more days...that means online check-in on Tuesday :woohoo:  :cool1: :dance3:  :woohoo:

We've gotten our USO tickets already too! We ordered them on Thursday and I picked them up on Friday. That was way quicker than I thought, considering they told us to allow a week for delivery. (we got them through Sears Travel at just $105 CAD for a 1 day-2 park ticket) I've already gotten some requests for HP merchandise to bring back for people too. I think this trip is going to be awesome. I just hope I don't loose too much sleep due to over-excitement

In other non-Disney related news...the weather here has been horrible. We've literally had 3 straight weeks of either cloud, fog, or rain. We haven't seen the sun any longer than a few hours at a time, defiantly no longer than half a day. On top of the dismal, dreary days we've been having, the temperature hasn't been great either...still cool, no warmer than 60 (which is about 16 if you're also Canadian). At this point I wouldn't be surprised if the first real amount of sun I see is after we break through all the clouds on the airplane

Before we go I have to:
- get my suitcase from my parent's place
- make sure I still have a dog-sitter for my 3 year-old Chiweenie (she lives with my parents because my apartment building is too noisy for her...she would bark too much)
- get 2 more pairs of shorts (3 if I can find cheap ones)
- find the sun screen (it's buried somewhere)
- get a few more LGMH's from Home Depot :thumbsup2
- get some US $$ (not much, but it's good to have some)
- get my hair cut (this Wednesday)
- find my sandals (or crocs)

I think I'm going to go make an actua to-do list, and a packing list and add them to my planning journal.

I leave you now with a "my trip's coming up dance" for all of you that are headed on your WDW vacation's soon.
:dance3: :dance3: :dance3:

:yay: :yay: :yay: :yay:

With a forecast of continuously crappy weather, I bet you are beyond excited now! :cool1:

I feel so bad that I have been such a bad DISfriend and haven't been over here for awile. I promise to do better when you write your TR.:thumbsup2

I am so glad that you decided to get a b-day button. I am totally getting one for Liam, but since his birthday is tomarrow I feel he definatly needs one. I've been thinking about snagging one for myself as well, but a little harder to justify since my birthday isn't until Mid August.:confused3

I am so jealous that you guys get to go to WWOHP, I so want to go with you. I tried to figure out how to work it into our plans, but alas it was not meant to be. Oh well maybe next time. I hope to see tons of pics (and can you bring me back a butter beer when we meet the next day.:thumbsup2:lmao::lmao:)

I can't believe that you guys will be there in just three days and we will be following just a couple of days later.:scared1: Is your brother joining us for lunch on Weds? Can't wait to see you all!!!!
:banana::banana::banana:
:woohoo::woohoo::woohoo:
:yay::yay::yay:
I think it was time for another dance party
What can I say, I love dancing smilies

YES! [picture the dancing up and down guy] I can't wait! We have seen some sun though, which is a nice change from all the dreary weather we had been having. Still, not a full day of sun yet. I'm keeping my fingers crossed that Friday will be fog-free so we can get out on time

If there was any way the butterbeer would be intact, I would definitely get one for you guys, but I have a feeling that in the Florida heat it doesn't have a very long "shelf" life...but I will take plenty of pictures (and probably some video too)!

I can't believe how soon it is! After all this waiting it's come down to just 3 days (or 2 days, 12 hours, and 30 minutes...I'm not excited...:rolleyes1...). I've started packing, and hopefully after tonight I'll be pretty much all set. I need to clean up the apartment a little bit, and do some more laundry (so we don't have to do it when we get home), and I'll be all set. I know it's probably cliche and whatnot, but I really can't believe how fast this past month went by...it's like it was May 1 and I blinked my eyes and now it's the 24th. 2 more days of work! :yay:

Anyway, my brother will be able to join us for lunch. I can't wait! (I feel like I can't say that enough)

More dancing!!!

I wondered what happened to all the smilies.:rotfl2:

I kinda of figured that about the butterbeer. Maybe one day they will sell it in a bottle and it will keep better. Until than I guess I have to live vicariously through you. I can't wait to see the pics and video.

I am so glad that your brother will be able to join our little party. The more the better in my eyes.

Hello DISsers!

As you can see by this post, I haven't yet embarked on our perlis journey to Orlando just yet. Last night at about 9:30 pm I got a phone call saying our flight had been cancelled :scared1: In a mad scramble to get everything sorted out my parents got split up from my fiance and I. Now, my Fiance and I are scheduled to be on a flight out of here at 12:55 pm today, which doesn't get us in to Orlando until 6:05 pm :sad2: and my parent's don't even get to leave until tomorrow :sad2: :sad2:

At least I get to fly out today. :worship: (if everything goes according to plan) It just sucks so much because we loose out on pretty much a whole day, and my parents loose the day entirely. Which essentially makes our 9 day trip 7 days (our last day is written off because our flight leaves early). :sad2: In future I will definitely re-think flying American Airlines as this isn't the first time this has happened with them. This also means that our Coral Reef ressies had to get cancelled, which sucks, but we were able to get in at the Maya Grill, so hopefully that will work out well...it just means we won't get to hit the MK before going to Epcot for the EMH tonight. :sad1:

Anyway, I thought I'd give you guys an update, and say bon voyage to those of you leaving within the next few days! I hope your flights go off as planned!
