There was an interview with him on TV tonight, as well as with his brother. As they both say, Danny is now free to be his own person, sing the kind of music he likes, and to decide how to blend his singing career with the foundation he started, Sophia's Heart, in honor of his wife. He said it's actually a relief to be leaving AI, and his brother said it's a good thing he's no longer beholden to AI.
As an aside, they also interviewed the girl in the pink plaid pants who was chasing Danny's limo during his hometown visit. The girl is bizarre! Last year, they also went to David Cook's hometown visit, and got facetime on AI then too. She said if she had caught up to the limo, she was going to jump in, and now she wants to sing on stage with Danny.
