Happy Birthday Kaileigh! Want to go to Disney? Pre-trip Report

Joining in. Your daughter is adorable! We are going in September 4 days after my DD12's 13th birthday. Our trip is a surprise for her until her birthday!

:welcome: I bet your daughter will love it. Kaileigh knows about the trip because we have had to postpone it twice now. This time we are definately going. The nice thing about this one is we are refusing to go anywhere for Christmas. We are staying home and enjoying the time off.

DH and I are trying to lose weight.(both of us are down 10lbs) We have started watching what and how much we eat. We have also been walking more to exercise. We have a walking program at work and I walk 3 miles a day with a friend. We walk 1.5 for morning break and 1.5 for afternoon break. I have started walking a mile on lunch break by myself when I can. (its 2.5 miles round trip to go uptown on lunch with a friend to get ice cream...just make sure they are open:lmao:)

Well today Kaileigh decided to walk with me. My cousin watches her after school and lives a little over a mile way. DH dropped us off at the stop sign past her house. Kaileigh walked 1.5 miles with me today. She did a great job. :thumbsup2 When asked if she would like to walk home with me again tomorrow the answer was no....:rotfl2: I think the newness wore off that quick.....

She will get in plenty of walking on Saturday. It is opening weekend for Cedar Point and she is excited.

ooo, I loove Cedar Point, but since I moved out of Ohio I haven't been. :( Last time I was there was after I graduated HS in 1996!

Hope you have a great time this weekend!!

Thanks. We love going to ride the rides. She was finally tall enough in shoes last year to hit the 48" mark. This year it will be no problem as she is now 49 3/4" without shoes.:thumbsup2 We ended up buying season passes again and they work in all cedar fair parks. Last year we paid for her ticket just in parking alone.....4 visits and it pays for itself. This way we only have to pay for gas and food while we are out. Cheap family day.....

So after telling me yesterday she didn't want to walk home with me today.....She walked home with me today for another 1.5 miles. And .... she did it in flip flops....:thumbsup2 Tomorrow night we won't be able to walk. It is our night to get our hair done. She needs her hair trimmed and I need a trim...and to cover all the gray ssshhhhh:lmao: Our plans for Saturday may be on hold until Sunday now. DH may have to work. We won't know until tomorrow.

So Kaileigh has decided she would like to do BBB. I am trying to decide if I want to get a dress before we go or if I would rather let her just pick one the day we go. This way she can find one that fits her. Do they carry the 8-10 size in the store? Right now she is a 7/8. Last year she grew alot over the summer and I am afraid to get anything now that she might out grow. I know we went up 2 shoe sizes just over the summer and 3 sizes over the year.

I am thinking about letting her do this the day we do the afternoon tea. DH will be able to go off to ESPN zone and chill out by himself for a bit. I thought about the princess tea. I just can't see paying that much for tea when she really doesn't play with dolls much anymore. She is more into the monster high and barbie dolls.

Saturday we went to Cedar Point. Kaileigh took a friend along. We arrived around 9:45 am. And bought a ticket with the military discount for the friend. Then DH had to go stand in line to get his season pass. I was able to use the passes from last year for Kaileigh and I. The rest of us headed in. I tried to keep the girls near the front of the park to wait for DH. He ended up waiting 2 hrs in line to get his pass. The park was packed. More packed than I expected. We rode what the girls wanted to ride while waiting. After DH finally got in we rode the train around to leave the park for lunch. We love steak n shake and usually have coupons so that is where we went for lunch. It is nice to get out away from the crowds for a bit. After lunch, we headed back to the park until about 7:30pm. By this time the girls had enough and were starting to pick at each other. A stop at KFC for dinner and 1/2 hr on the road, they were both out. All in all it was a great weather, big crowds, and we just took our time because we know we will be back again soon. (DH suggested this Saturday.)

The girls first thing in the morning......

:welcome: Thanks. We are looking forward to our time together. We spend alot of time together as just the 3 of us. In just over 2 weeks it will be the 4 of us. We are getting excited to see Christopher for the summer.

The pin board for Kaileigh's room is adorable! What a great idea!

Thanks. I was looking for a way to display the ones she wanted to keep. I told her she can't fill the other board until we get home from our trip. This way she can trade pins for ones she really likes.

9 more days until I can make my ADRs. It will be one early morning. I would like to try and do all of them online if I can. But I will have the phone ready just in case....:thumbsup2 I have to get it done quick because if I know my family...we will be at cedar point that day as well. The plan is to go this Saturday as well. :woohoo:

So the plan as of now.....is we are going to Cedar Point again tomorrow.:banana: This time it will just be the 3 of us. Tonight we will pack up everything we can that way all we have to do is get up and around, eat breakfast, and hit the road. :drive: The goal is to be there at 9 am. We can get in a hour early with our passes. We plan to just pack our lunch and eat there this time. We really don't like much of the food there. (It is not Disney food that is for sure :sad2:) And this way we can control our calories as we are both still working on losing weight. I look forward to the walking and Kaileigh is good about riding the coasters she is allowed to ride. She just takes turns sitting with myself and DH. We tend to let her pick the rides we are going to go on and just take it easy. We are looking forward to the shows they have, but most of them do not open until end of this month begining of next month.

I hope you are having fun at Cedar Point today. I'm soo jealous you have passes and can go all the time. Cedar Point is one thing I miss about not living in Ohio anymore. I love roller coasters and its the roller coaster capital!

So Saturday we were up and out the door and :drive: at 6:50 am. 10 min earlier than we had planned. We had to stop twice on the way and arrived shortly after 9 am. Not bad for us..... We were able to get in as soon as we got to the gate thanks to the passes. They were packed already. They had some American Coaster Enthusiast event and a lot of school music programs. We headed straight for the blue streak and rode it first. It was great because it was walk on. We let DH go ride Raptor after that because he had never riden it. While he rode that Kaileigh and I headed to the Iron Dragon. We had enough time to ride it twice again walk on before DH made it to us. I had Kaileigh talked into riding Millennium Force until we seen the line and at this time it wasn't even 10 am. We decided to ride the train to frontierland.
2012-05-19_10-06-12_112.jpg

This is where we notice how bad the bugs are. They were bad all day. Once there Kaileigh decided she needed an icee. About this time she figured out Wave Swinger was no more. They were working on it last weekend and I guess they couldn't fix it because it was in the process of being torn down. All the swings were gone. That was another of her favorite rides. So we rode the antique cars. She drove while I sat in the back and DH followed in the car behind us. Have to let her practice now while its semi safe....:rotfl:

After the cars it was time for some excitement with Mine Creek Ride. I got to tell you this is not one of my favorite rides. Usually we just wait with her and then walk thru if she has a friend with her. Well we had to ride because we didn't take any extra kids this time.... The reason I don't care for this ride is the first time I rode it. The bar that comes down....yeah don't sit like you normally would. I have long legs and didn't realize I needed to cross them and tuck my feet under. The guy pushing the bar down wouldn't stop to give me time to get them tucked once I realized what I had to do. :sad2: This time it was alot better, I knew just what to do. After we finished this ride Kaileigh decided she needed to eat. So we rode the train back around. I know its not just me. There are shots fired during some of the scences you see along the path while on the train. I know its coming and I still jump everytime.:confused3

After the train, we decided to ride the cable cars back to the front of the park. Its nice to look around while up there. After that it was time for a spin on the carosuel.
2012-05-19_11-44-30_52.jpg

We finally make it out of the park just after 12:30. We really don't like the food so we packed a picnic and enjoyed it in the pavilion. When we finished and went back in you realized just how crowded it had become and people were still showing up. We decided to head towards ocean motion to find out it was closed down. So we took Kaileigh into Planet Snoopy. She loves the Kite Eating Tree.
2012-05-19_12-57-15_934.jpg

She then rode the train they have in that area. After that is was deep sea diver and she would exit and ride it again. She had enough in this area and as we headed over to kiddie kingdom. On the way we came across a school choir and they were performing songs from Mulan. Who says you can't have some Disney even at Cedar Point???? :rotfl2: We even had our Disney T's on. We stayed for a few songs before making our way over to the kiddie bumper cars. She rode, exited, rode, exited, rode, exited, rode, and rode. The guy running the ride didn't even have her exit the last time.:rotfl:
2012-05-19_13-31-10_779.jpg

The bugs were really bad in Kiddie Kingdom. One little girl screamed and cried until they let her out of the bumper cars. She refused to ride. DH needed a break about this time. So Kaileigh and I headed for Disaster Transport to find the line out the door. So we decided to ride the Space Spiral. It is at this point I can see the parking lot and it is full. The bus area is completely full and one whole section of the regular lot is full of buses. I counted at least a 100 buses. No wonder the lines are huge. After that is was time for Sir Rub a Dubs tubs. She decided she didn't want me to ride and rode with the little girl in front of us. Works for me...:cool1: We decided it was about time to start heading out. So we rode another carosuel.
2012-05-19_14-19-23_687.jpg

Then she wanted to ride the 4 wheel trucks.
2012-05-19_13-16-15_23.jpg

The things we do for our children. Doesn't he look thrilled....:rotfl2:
Then we were off to the derby. We rode Cedar Downs Derby horses. This is a great way to cool off. After this it was time to head home. As soon as we get on the turnpike we see this.....
2012-05-19_16-27-16_191.jpg

Apparently she was worn out.....

We stopped in Toledo for dinner at Popeye's Chicken. We love Popeye's and there isn't one near us. So we stop when we can and take some home. We even stopped for an ice cream cone in Pioneer Ohio. They are the only ones that have flavor burst in buttered pecan flavor. We were home by 6:30pm. We even had time to mow the lawn. Not bad and Kaileigh even had time to chalk with a friend. All in all it was not a bad day. We know we will be back and have no problem not riding all the rides. Soak City opens next weekend and we may try to go. This year Kaileigh is tall enough for the slides. I just have to get her room painted before we can go.....I turned the pink room into a blue room since my DS decided he just can't sleep in a pink room and now I have to turn a cream colored room into a green colored room. Guess I better get busy...I have 4 days...

I hope you are having fun at Cedar Point today. I'm soo jealous you have passes and can go all the time. Cedar Point is one thing I miss about not living in Ohio anymore. I love roller coasters and its the roller coaster capital!

We like going when we get the chance. DH and I will have a date day and go by ourselves. We did this last year with a friend for Halloweekends and had a blast. Sometimes its nice to go out without any kids. Kaileigh and I went a few times just the two of us. She is already asking when we can do that again. My son is the one who is willing to stand in line over 3 hrs for a ride. The rest of us not so much. I miss Disney's fastpass. They have the fast lane at Cedar Point but you have to pay for it. Just not willing to pay for it. :sad2:

Sounds like a great day !! I can't wait to take the boys to an amusement park. :goodvibes

Sounds like a great day !! I can't wait to take the boys to an amusement park. :goodvibes

I bet they will have a blast when you take them. Kaileigh loves going and spending time with us. I am dreading the day she doesn't want to hang out with us anymore. So we are enjoying it for now while we can. She also likes the one on one with each of us. She has asked me when our next mommy daughter day will be.

Not much new here at the moment....
Work has been whooping my butt with the heat and having to fill in because we didn't have enough people to check parts

The room is ready to paint. Just need to tape n paint.

Went to give blood on Wednesday night before church and now I have a huge bruise. I give double red so they take out and seperate what they want and put back what they don't. The lady had it set wrong and when it went to put back it blew the vein. First time it has ever hurt giving. Sad part is all that had been taken was now wasted.

On a happy note....I can make ADRs on Saturday..... :cheer2::cheer2::cheer2:
