Happy Birthday Kaileigh! Want to go to Disney? Pre-trip Report

The mother in the story is my Aunt by marriage. Her and her husband have been in protective custody along with the children of both ladies and the husband of the youngest. The whole family had been threatened and nerves are running high since the man responsible has not been caught yet.

We had just been over to my aunt's house the night before this happened to drop off the car. My uncle works on the cars for us. Please say a prayer for healing for the family especially the children who have lost their moms as well as the mom who lost 2 of her daughters. Thank you.

Well the funeral went as well as could be expected. It was a very nice service and I really like the pastor. He left everyone with things to think about and gave an invitation as well. The processional had around 500 cars. The mom is out of the hopsital and she and her husband have the boys with them. The boys are 12, 10, and 2.



We have stayed busy this past week with work and home. It seems there are never enough hours in the day some days. This weekend we have 2 of my cousin's kids staying with us. We took them and Kaileigh to a little water park for the day. They have 2 outdoor slides that are 200ft tall and 2 indoor slides that are 100ft tall. The kids loved it. They also have a trampoline that you wear a harness and jump. That was a huge hit with the kids. They also had water wars with balloons. 5 hours and they were all whooped... They are staying again tonight as their mom had to work all weekend. Tomorrow after church we have a birthday party for my nephew at the bounce place so they won't be bored by any means.


My oldest decided to spend the weekend with his friend. I think he needed a break from us.

My cousin's little girl. She was just happy to jump because this was her first time doing something like this. I didn't get any pictures of her brother because he was busy on the slides.

Thanks she is under the weather. We found out she has hand foot mouth and we just have to let it run its course. We are treating the fever with tylenol and motrin. The good news is she only has the sores in her mouth and not on her hands and feet. The fever seems to want to stick around though.

She is using her countdown chain and getting excited about our trip. She loves looking at etsy and all the outfits.

We made our countdown chain for 130 days. We used construction paper, markers and lots and lots of stickers......Kaileigh felt the need to model with the chain....

I am thinking about adding a few special stickers to the chain on the inside and giving her a special little gifts on those days. I have a few things I would like to pick up still. Either do that or make a small goodie bag and give it to her on her birthday. I picked up plants vs zombies for her ds since she really likes that game. I have it hidden for now. School supplies are on sale right now too. She loves anything with coloring, painting, scissors and glue, etc. I can find some items at the dollar store as well pretty cheap to make a busy goodie bag.

This outfit will be making a repeat appearance this trip. She got it the day before we left on our last trip. I bought it big so she would be able to wear it for awhile. She loves to wear it to church and gets alot of compliments on it. She uses the suitcase whenever she stays at my cousin's house. Or we go stay in a hotel.

Double Digit Dance

Even the hubby did the double digit dance last night. DH and DD danced together while I made dinner. Was very funny to watch. We really need a vacation and he is looking forward to it too.

So now that fall has hit life just seems to get busier.

Monday Nights
I have ladies volleyball with our church league. The league moved to playing at our church and we now have 3 teams. I am the coach of the 3rd team by default. (No one else would do it) So far we have had a lot of fun.

Tuesday Nights I have free wooo hooooo

Wednesday Nights
Awanas has started. I am a sparky leader for the 1st grade and have a line for game time. The kids have so much fun and learn alot.

Thursday Nights are usually free

Friday night this week is Girls Night Out.
The 3rd - 6th grade girls have a night out for Awanas and this is the first year Kaileigh can attend. I will be there to help where needed.

The weekend is spent trying to catch up everything not done during the week. It seems like time flys by lately and you don't get much time to catch your breath.

Week nights between homework, cooking, and everything else there isn't much time left for dising.

Work has changed alot in the past year. I now have 16 people I have to keep track of and make sure they have everything they need. If they have problems I have to take care of them. It can be very hectic some days. I also have a new boss.

I think I forgot to send out the memo that I do not want to be in charge.

2 weeks from today around 5 pm (hopefully) I will be done with work. Kaileigh and I will hopefully be getting our nails done. On Wed the 21st we will finish up any last min things and head to the airport hotel. It is getting so close now.

We had the pinewood derby and bake-off yesterday. Kaileigh's car got stuck on the track the first time down. It made it all the way down on the 2nd time down. Needless to say her car didn't do well. However she did take 2nd place in the bake-off. She made cranberry orange cookies with an orange glaze on them. Lets just say it was interesting making the cookies. We found out on Friday she has a double ear infection. (I knew something was wrong by her attitude. She is normally in a great mood and easy going. Lately she had been really whiney and crabby. She had started coughing and a lot of congestion so I took her in and now we have the meds and will be taking them with us) She was very happy to place 2nd.

We hit the disney store last night. I was able to pick up both up 2 more shirts and I found a sweatshirt for me. Kaileigh bought herself a Rapunzel animation doll with her money. She received a birthday card with a gift card for disney. Plus she has been hoarding her money since she found out we were going.

Her birthday outfit arrived friday and she will wear it today. I will post a picture later.
