As a friend of mine recently pointed out, I'm closer to 60 than I am thirty (having hit 45, she asked if I remembered my 30th birthday, so of course I said yes, it felt like it was yesterday. . . hmm, she said, you're now the same distance away to 60 than you were at 45 from 30
). Perhaps I should say ex-friend
