BIL usually had 4th at his house and does fireworks but this year law enforcement cracking on people doing fireworks. I told hubby his family can come over here but it has to be a potluck. We've been spending so much money with DD's senior year, graduation, grad party and college tuition. So potluck it is :) It will be a simple get together
Whats on your menu ?? Here's ours

Our menu:
Lunch---leftover Subway
Supper---clean out the fridge

All my life we have gone to my Uncle's house. Over the years it has become less and less of "our" family and more and more of his "new" family (new wife's family and extended family that we don't even know). It'd always been sitting outside (even in 112 degree heat index), water balloons, water pistols, slip and slide. New family was appalled by our antics. It quickly became where they would stay inside in AC, visit only with each other, graze before meal was actually ready and then it was picked through food and some items completely gone. This year many of "our" family said to heck with that, we are staying home.

We are saving our "July 4th" meal for tomorrow in order to use the rest of the steak from yesterday's dinner...so today we did steak fajita tacos (my kids joked about the appropriateness, but I said they don't put ribeye steak with onions and peppers in any tacos but American made ones...)...they did get homemade fresh apricot and blueberries muffins and fresh cherries to give it a red, white, and blue look (white taco shell, bluberries in muffin, and red cherries)...so I did try a little:)...

Tomorrow, we'll have turkey burgers with melted provolone, homemade dijoinaise, lettuce, and tomato, baked french fries and onion rings, and fresh strawberries.

Venison steaks and baby potatoes along with onions on the grill and roasted green beans in the oven. Watermelon for dessert.

BBQ ribs, New Orleans BBQ shrimp (which have nothing to do with a grill or BBQ sauce), potato salad, radishes, and baked beans.

4th of July week is my honey's busiest work week all year long, thankfully most of it is done from home. My son and his dogs came over and honey took a short break around 1 and grilled steaks. He and the boy had baked potatoes as well but I wasn't in the mood so I just had a salad and half a steak. The boy stayed for a few hours and honey went back to work right after he ate.

We had our family get together and fireworks last night. I took watermelon and signed up for chips but forgot to bring them. Rest of menu- hot ham and cheese with mustard dill sauce, pasta salad, potato salad, 2 kinds of cookies, leftover birthday cake, tea, pop and beer.

For the last 5 years I've had the Taco Challenge when I eat at least one taco a day for the entire month of July. This year I'm having the Endless Summer of Tacos Challenge and I aim to eat one taco a day for the entire summer, stating June 21 and ending September 21 (we leave for WDW six days later). Today's taco is a bit cheeky. We're having Russian Beef Stroganoff tacos and for dessert, s'mores.

We kept it simple. Pulled pork sliders, potato salad and apple pie for dessert.

We had carne asada, black beans and rice in tortillas with all the fixins :) Did fireworks with our neighbors. Great fun!

We had t-bones, baked potatoes, corn on the cob and watermelon with cookies for dessert.

Menu @ DD house- marinated flank state, pasta salad with shrimp and crab, fruit salad with feta
For dessert grilled banana splits.
