In a few days the first month of our Team Challange will be completed. So it's feedback time:

Is the team challange helping you get your steps in?

Are you getting to know other WISHers better?

Are you having fun?


When the month ends and the captains post the months totals for the teams we can see who is really winning. Everyone was worried about the Tri athletes kicking butt, I wonder if that is what has happened. Be interesting to see.


Our own sweet Worfiedoodles, Maria, had a cool idea. Each week we post a challange to everyone to either add or substract something from your nutrition plan, like if it's a add week you could add taking a vitiamin or making sure you are getting enouth water, if it's a subtract week then you stop something that needs to go, like eating just before bed or stop or cut down on the days soda.

This would not have an impact on the team's hours or miles but just something to think about. The stuff people post they are going to do would give others ideas.

What do you think do you like the add/subtract idea?

Should we shoot the Panda and make a rug?

Shooting Pandas is illegal. For their own sakes, they are protected species, otherwise they would already be extinct!

Second, doing something with nutrition, would be kinda fun.

I like the add/subtract idea...I never seem to drink enough water, being a total Diet Coke addict. I know drinking more water and less soda would help with my workouts, and to lose those last few pounds.

There are some impressive totals by triathletes/cyclists on there....:rolleyes1 not that I was just looking or anything :rolleyes1 ;) So I am on a mission to take them down! :woohoo: just kidding!

I just was trying to look some stuff up....and we WISHers have logged enough miles collectively to get from WDW to Moscow! Not too shabby!

Like the idea of add/subtract to help along the nutrition side. I really need to learn to step away from the potato chips....

I like the add/subtract idea; I've already gotten so many great ideas from my WISH family. :love: Would the challenge be posted here? How would we keep track--on the team threads? Or would we just keep track for ourselves?

Yes on all accounts! I have been more apt to get out and exercise knowing that my team is counting on me, and I don't want to let them down. I am also competing against myself each week. So far this week, I have done more miles than any of the previous weeks, and I still have a couple of days to add to it.

I like the Add/Subtract idea as well. That would keep it new and interesting.

Yes, I feel like I "know" more WISHers now than I did in Jan. Wish I could have a do over. Now, can all y'all come over here and convince my DH that I NEED to go back to Disney next Jan.? :rolleyes1

Is the team challenge helping you get your steps in? Yes and and its been a tough month for me motivationwise so it has been HUGE!

Are you getting to know other WISHers better?Yes and I love my teammates. The team thread makes it easier for me to put each post with a person so I am getting to know personalities faster.

Are you having fun?I always have fun on the WISH board! You guys are the only ones who don't think I am strange for being obsessed with running. (yeah, that is gonna open a can of worms)

I gave up my single can a day of soda on January 1st and I would love to force others to live in hell with me. oops, thats not what you meant. :rolleyes: Seriously, Betsy, I have been telling my running partner for years that diet drinks were her enemy. So she gave up diet coke in support of my giving up coke and she has lost almost 8 lbs! She didn't have to diet either.... Quick! Somebody kick me before I step on my soap box about diet drinks.

Thanks, Cruella! I know the diet drinks do something to screw up the insulin response. So I am working on it. Only had one yesterday. And one so far today. I don't drink coffee, so it's my morning caffeine. Will drink plenty of water today, though, I promise!! :)
 
Me too. I'll join you! I have so much to be accountable for, I wouldn't know where to start!

Water is a good place to start for me.
 
The challenge is fun. I'm new 'round these parts so it is good to "get to know" a small group before being thrown to the pandas....I mean....wolves. Right.

Oh Yes, it is much easier to have an excuse when it's just you ... but when what you do gets added to the Teams - you certainly don't want to bite the hand that encourages you! :cheer2:

What's this, we're shooting Pandas and making a rug? :confused3 :rolleyes1

From my brief experience with pandas, they might not be that bright (only eat one type of food and when it is gone they starve to death instead of finding something else :rolleyes1 ) but are harmless. Therefore I don't think shooting a harmless animal is too good, unless you are attempting to find food. But as Willie Wonka says, "that would be cannabilism and is frowned upon here." :lmao:

In an effort to save the species, I recommend that we all send him different foods that are local to you just so he won't starve to death. The higher the sugar/fat content the better. This way he will have plenty of stores when it is time for him to hibernate and decrease his team totals. ;) :lmao:
