Happily Ever After... Angela and BG..12/21/06 - WP/Citrico's DISNEY PHOTO LINK ADDED

Thanks, Aquagirl! You will have to be a little more specific with me, as we ordered 2 cakes this past summer....

Just let me know which one and I will be more than happy to let you know how to get it!!!

After a light rest, we all decided to go back to Epcot for the evening. The lights were quite nice during the day, but they were absolutely stunning at night.

The "snowflake" lights. I don't know exactly what these lights were supposed to be, but I think of them as "snowflakes":)

The Christmas Tree at night
DSC01262.jpg

We also had our picture taken under the Christmas tree, but they came out too dark. :confused3 We stopped for dinner at the Canadian kiosk for Eggnog, Beefstew and an ale. While it was all very good, I like the eggnog the best :thumbsup2 The beefstew was a little smokey for my taste, I prefered the goulash in Germany. We also did a lot of shopping - I purchased some Christmas presents for my family. My mother and brother weren't due to arrive for the wedding until Tuesday night.

The Italian Santa Clause
DSC01268.jpg

We stopped at the American Adventure to take a quick peek inside. Daniel is a HUGE achitecture and antique buff - so he was absolutely in awe of this building. Which, I agree with. He decided at that point that we were all going to build a house that looked like the AA building and live in there together. I wouldn't mind having a house that size - as long as I didn't have to clean it....:scared1:

Inside the AA
DSC01271.jpg

Inside the AA, a CM asked Daniel if he had had a phone call that day for his birthday... So, he received a "Birthday Wish" phone call from Goofy. Then, the CM mentioned my "Just Married" button and asked where my groom was. BG was outside eating his kaki-gori that he had purchased in Japan. The CM asked him to come inside, then we recived the wedding message from Mickey and Minnie and a "Magical Moments" certificate from the CM. That was the first time all day a CM had noticed our buttons - that would be a repeat pattern for the remainder of our stay.

As part of the planning, I asked BG before we left for this trip how he felt about the CP package. He thought we could just do what we did last year and get in the standby line to see the show. This year, when he saw that the "Standby" line started in 3 countries down - he wasn't too sure. So, while we had stopped at the AA, I went over to the CP Information desk to see if there were any ADRs left for the week. NOTHING!! There was not an ADR to be found at any of the restaurants for any of the show times. So, while we would try to get there, it didn't look like we would be seeing CP on this trip. This really made me upset - FMIL didn't see it last year on the trip, and Daniel had never seen it. So, I really wanted the CP to be one of the highlights of their trip. :sad2:

We stopped in Norway for a school bread - which we all attacked so fast I didn't get to take a picture of...popcorn:: Then, it was back to the GF - BG loves to stay Concierge. We have splurged for it on previous trips - so he always looks forward to the evening dessert offerings. While they are all very good, they are always the same. One thing about staying CL - the food offerings don't give you much variety from the previous trips. If you found something you liked on another trip, more than likely you will having it again on a future trip....

We had stepped back down to the 3rd floor and saw our favorite Concierge at the GF - Joe!!!:woohoo: He is so great at his job - and he is so nice and friendly. WDW has a great CM in him. I mentioned to him that I would love to see on of the Disney suites (the Roy Disney suite or the Walt Disney Suite) and after a quick clicking on the computer, he said to come with him. The Roy Disney suite is just beautiful - BG and I may spring for that on a return trip. It is just so luxurious, that you don't feel like you are in a hotel room. It would have been great to have for the week of our wedding, seeing as there were 4 of us. But, it wasn't available for some of our nights during the week, so maybe next time...:rolleyes1

There were also 2 1/2 bathrooms - which were all HUGE!!! You could easily have a party in any of them...:yay: Also, the second bedroom had 2 twin sleigh beds. The suite was just beautiful. So many pictures on the wall from the private Disney collection.

Maybe, I can talk BG into a splurge for our first anniversary.....:rolleyes1 :dance3:

It was quite late, so we decided to call it a night. The next morning, we were going to the MK!!!!

The day started out with Daniel taking his normal very long shower, while the rest of us had a light breakfast in the lounge. While the CL at the GF is getting outrageously expensive , I love having the convenience of a light breakfast that you don't have to wait in line for.

We rode over to MK on a short ride on the Monorail. There was a MVMCP that night, so they were closing at 7. I have a picture of BG beside of a sign very similar to this one when he was 4 (1976), so I thought this pic was quite appropriate.

I have always wanted to take a ride on the horse drawn buggy, but I never seem to be in the right place at the right time....

DSC01289.jpg

I had heard that Disney was painting the Castle to look more like the castle in Tokyo - I held of my opinion until I saw it in person. I kind of like it, though it wasn't the same castle I was used to seeing. I think it looks more realistic with this new paint job.
DSC01290.jpg

We were also able to catch a glimpse of the new Castle Forecourt Stage show - the name escapes me at the moment. We watched it until it was almost completed - It was cute.
DSC01293.jpg

DSC01296.jpg

We decided to move in the opposite direction from the masses, so we went to Adventureland first. Daniel and DMIL hadn't seen the "new" POTC yet. So, we rode that first. Then, it was on to BTMRR - DMIL doesn't ride this at all. So, it was just Daniel, BG and me. I don't recommend riding this ride alone...:goodvibes I slid all over the place, back and forth!! Those "leather" seats gave my butt NO traction!!! :rotfl:

From there, it was the Country Bear Jamboree. I don't know about you guys, but I didn't like that WDW didn't set up the Christmas show for the CBJ! We look forward to a little variety during our visits, which we didn't get from the Country Bears this trip. They did, however, have a new clock to count down to the next show.
DSC01297.jpg

Same old show - not even an ounce of Christmas spirit from these Bears!! :rolleyes1
DSC01299.jpg

From the CBJ, we rode the Haunted Mansion, Peter Pan's Flight, and It's a Small World. All week, BG had been taking antibiotics for a sinus thing that he had developed before we left VA. Unfortunately, they didn't seem to be working. So, he was wearing down quite a bit that day. :crazy2:

But, he wanted a hot dog from Casey's Corner. We were working our way over to get a light luch, when DMIL noticed a bunny in the bushes.
DSC01301.jpg

So, we made a quick stop there for hot dogs, fries, and a drink. As usual, it was good....popcorn:: We did have an audience for our lunch. He was very adament about wanting the majority of the food on my plate. I was less than willing to oblige, which is why I think he looks so grumpy....
DSC01303.jpg

BG was also being beckoned from below, by a Mallard duck. He also wasn't happy, he kept biting BG on his shorts. I was afraid to take his picture, he didn't seem too happy with us....

That was the end of our day in the park. BG wasn't feeling well at all, and since the wedding was fastly approaching, I didn't want to push him to stay. He needed rest to feel better. Besides, I told him if he sounded stuffed up and ruined our wedding video, it wouldn't matter how he felt because I would kill him :rolleyes1 . So, we headed back to the monorail for a nap at the GF.

Wow-- you look like you had such a great time!! I love Walt's suite at the GF. How much does that run now?? Im sure its a pretty penny!!

I cant wait to hear about the wedding... so you like the CL? You think its worth the price?

I hope your DH got to feeling better before the wedding... that would stink to be sick on your wedding day.

Also-- while your DH is working on your American Adventure replica of a home... tell him while hes at it to build me one-- im not picky at all!;)

Cant wait for more:yay:

Yeah, I don't think that house is every going to be built!!! :rotfl: We have a rather large house here, about 5500 sq. ft. But, it isn't too family friendly - so BG and I have the idea that we will add another floor onto this house and make it more of a "federal style" house - that won't be a HUGE house at all!!! :scared1: I think as a 1st anniversary present, BG should provide me with a maid....:yay:

The Roy Disney and Walt Disney Suites are both AMAZING!!!! Either of them is running about $1800 a night...:scared: Maybe one day.....:rolleyes1

As for CL - BG likes it. He likes the convenience of having a snack when he wants it and to keep me free from "planning mode". As for me, I don't know if it is worth 2X the $$ per room - though I don't complain when we are there...;) I have lots more pics of the offerings, too....

The 8 inch cake. It is so beautiful, I want it!!! Thanks!!!

It was a wonderful cake....:cloud9:

I ordered it from the GF bakery while we were staying there last summer. I called the bakery (the # to the GF is 407-824-3000, just ask for the bakery) and asked for an 8 inch cake white cake. I wanted bavarian cream with raspberries for the filling - delivered to the room. They decorated the cake at their own discretion - but you can just tell them you want buttercream roses on the top.

Good luck!!! Let me know how your cake turns out....:wizard:

Angela, I am really enjoying your TR. DF and I were at WDW for our planning session during the same week. We were upset to learn there were no more ADRs for CP as well. We stood and watched it for awhile, but couldn't really see much. Oh well, I guess we'll just have to go again!

I cannot believe you got to see the Disney suite! What a treat!

Can't wait to read more... popcorn::

Thanks for the info Angela! I am hoping to order a cake that beautiful in March.

After a light nap, Daniel walked over to the WP with me to take some of our wedding items over to the planner. It was beautiful outside, but BG stayed in the room to rest some more...;)

For dinner, we decided to have light food from the RPC lounge. It wasn't much, but it was good. :thumbsup2

BG also made the mistake of taking Nyquil to help him sleep that night - so when we got back to the room at 7pm, he was already passed out. This would come into play the next day.....

Tomorrow - Epcot, (Sort of! ;) ) and MVMCP!!! :santa:

Like I mentioned in a PP, BG took some Nyquil on Monday night to help him sleep. Well, it was well into the morning (almost 10) before he was lucid enough to even attempt to go to Epcot - and of couse I felt guilty:sad2: and wouldn't go without him.

We made it to Epcot around 11 am, and I noticed the Christmas decorations at the turnstiles.

From there, we moved on back to the World Showcase. We had missed riding El Rio Del Tiempo the other day we were at Epcot, so we decided to go there.
DSC01309.jpg

While we were in the Mexican pavilion, I stopped in Arribas Bros. to pick up a crystal Mickey hand tie tack for BG and Daniel to wear during the wedding. I was having crystal "hidden Mickey's" put in my bouquet, but the 2 men were Mickey-less. So, I wanted them to have something special, tood. Then, we went on to Norway to ride Maelstrom. Again, I don't understand the reason for a FP for this ride. I mean, I have never seen the wait for this ride more than 5 or 10 min. But, who am I to question the Mouse?

Daniel found his Halloween costume in Norway
DSC01313.jpg

I noticed while we were standing in line at Maelstrom that BG was leaning against the railing and SLEEPING!!!!:scared1: At one point, he almost fell over!! So, being the wonderful little wifey-poo that I was aspiring to be, we went back to the GF after Norway for BG to go back into a drug-induced coma. But, he was assuring me that once he slept it off, he would be ready to MVMCP... I was not-so-secretly :yay: . I love MVMCP!! and I was so excited for Daniel to come with us...

While we were going back to the GF, Daniel's ex-partner (we'll call him DEx) called to talk to Daniel. You see, that is why he moved in with us, he and his partner were spliting up. So, while he was still invited to the wedding, we hadn't made any plans to see DEx during this trip.

BG, FMIL, and I went back to the room to get BG settled in for a long afternoon hibernation while Daniel stayed in the lounge to talk to DEx. While everyone else was busy, I wondered down to the pool to get a little sun on my face. I received a call on my cellphone about 3:45 that BG had finally come out of his "fog" and it was time to get ready for the Christmas Party. It was upon my return to the room that I learned that DEx had asked to come to the GF and take us to dinner and to go to the party too. I reluctantly agreed and made a last minute ADR for 5:00 and went to the Concierge desk to purchase him a ticket to the party....

I took a quick shower and while I was getting ready, DEx called about 15 til 5 and said he was just leaving his house (45 minutes away!!!! ) and would be there when he "gets there". Needless to say, I wasn't too happy with him. I mean, how rude can you be? Not to mention, this dinner was his $#@& idea! So, I cancelled my ADR and we went to the lounge for Sushi night....

DSC01315.jpg

DSC01314.jpg

I didn't take a picture of it, but I also had a beer!

DEx finally showed up around 5:40 and we were able to go to MVMCP!

DSC01319.jpg

As you know, the Christmas Party doesn't officially get kicked off until 7, so we went toward Tomorrow Land to ride some rides. We rode Buzz LightYear and BG and I have had a competition going for years. We make a bet for something we both want, and then whoever gets the highest points wins! This time, I had 999,999 points! So, I obviously got my new Ipod. :dance3:

Then, we rode the People Mover. You know, I kind of felt sorry for DEx. No one wanted to ride with him, so he was usually riding by himself. When we went inside Space Mountain, the ride was down and the lights were on.

Sorry these are so dark, but my camera can be very tempermental....:scared:

At this point, it was time to get a seat at Mickey's Twas the Night Before Christmas. I tried so hard to plan so we could see everything last year at the party, but we missed this show. So, I wanted to make sure we were in place to see the 1st show of the evening.

Mickey's Twas the Night Before Christmas was amazing! It is one of the best stage shows that I have seen at WDW! I was so upset that we missed it last year, but the wait was worth it. Such a great show, if MVMCP is one your agenda for your holiday trip, this is a must-see IMHO. :thumbsup2
