Babyhorsie,
Walk in Walt's Footsteps is meant to be wonderful (we are hoping to go on it this Oct).
The Disney's Happiest Haunts tour will be difficult for anyone to comment on until after 9 Sept. The tour has been completely revamped this year and the blog/website seem to be a bit sketchy about what the tour will be. That said, we hope to do it this Oct as well.
When will you be at the parks? Maybe our tours will coincide.
I've done the Walk in Walt's Footsteps tour fairly recently, and did the Happiest Haunts tour years ago.
If this is your first tour at Disneyland, I recommend Walk in Walt's Footsteps.
We are there 4-8 Oct. so sadly miss you.Good point AussieCaribou!!! Maybe I will just wait and hear how the reviews are or take a chance and just book it. I love going into something with zero expectations. We will be there 10/16-10/19. When are you there?
Hi Aussie Caribou! I hope you are well and ready for your trip! Did you book your tour? I keep being on the fence. I just can't decide which tour to do. I thought I had decided on Walk in Walt's Footsteps but when I called this morning, the CM had me talked into Happiest Haunts but after researching it more, I'm just not sure it sounds for us. What did you decide? We are there 4-8 Oct. so sadly miss you.

Hi Babyhorsie, we leave for the States in 6 days and we are so not ready! Lol. But we have the weekend.
I actually gave in to that nagging feeling and booked both tours! We are doing the Happiest Haunts tour on 5 Oct and Walk in Walt's Footsteps on the 6th. Feeling very spoilt and poor now. But at least I can compare them. Lol.
From what I have heard, HH is stories of the haunted mansion with a side trip to the Tiki room (not sure what singing tropical birds have to do with ghosts, but I will find out). I'm waiting until Jeff Baham releases his review on Monday ... He has a podcast called mousetalgia and he went on the tour last week. He's the proprietor of Doombuggies.com and a genuinely nice guy. Not that it really matters as we bought the tickets and can't get our money back...
How exciting, though I would dread the flight! We flew to Netherlands last summer and it was brutal!!! I was acthave ally considering doing both too, especially since I decided against the mother daughter massage at Mandara Spa at $180 for $25 minutes! i didn't get what kit room had to do with the HH tour either! I was hoping for the pet cemetery to be part of the tour. I think I will book Walt's for 10/17 and consider booking HH for 10/19 if it is available. Excited to hear how your trip goes! Are you doing anything other than Disneyland while you are here?
I was hoping for the pet cemetery too...I'm going to ask a CM to see if I can go have a look. A friend has a piece in there and I would like to see it.
Let me help you with some peer pressure... Do it, do it, do it....Lol
The flight is long. We will be up at 330am to get to the local airport in time for our 615am flight. It's 50 minutes in the air and the a couple of hours at the airport until the 14.5 hour flight to LAX. We have a couple of hours to get through immigration and customs and then the flight to Portland Or (I think that is a couple of hours) then my mom should be picking us up and we will drive to McMinnville... By then, over 24 hours later, it will be lunch time and I will have to stay awake and make polite conversation until I can go to bed and sleep...I will be so excited for sleep! So, we are visiting family in McMinnville and then go to Disneyland. Can't wait!

You have a great trip planned!!! Can't wait to hear all about it! I booked Happiest Haunts, still deciding if I want to do Walk in Walt's footsteps too...I can't book it until tomorrow if I decide anyways. I listed to Moustalgia review and am having a bit of buyer's remorse after their review of HH. I'm just going to stay positive and know we always have a good time with whatever we do! I still can't get over it though....the Tiki Room???? Weird!

Yeah, I totally had sticker shock! I thought it would be fun to do a massage at a spa at Disney but I think her and I will just have to stick to doing them at our local massage shops!EEK, $180 for 25 minutes?! If you have a car, you might consider finding a Massage Envy or Massage Green location nearby. You can get a 50-minute massage for $49.99 (I think) at Massage Envy (prices raised this past weekend)
You're so right, very good Points! I think it is going to be fun and we will really enjoy it! I am really leaning to doing Happiest Haunts AND Walk in Walt's footsteps though....decisions, decisions.....I listened too, but... it kinda made we want to go even more!! All the stuff he poo-pooed sounded pretty interesting to me, which is why we decided to take the tour - out of interest. I know a little about HM but would love to know more, and it seems you learn a bunch on the tour. It seemed after listening to the podcast that he was maybe a hair biased? I don't think he can give a totally fair review on something that he wrote a book on! He couldn't learn a thing from the tour, and I mean c'mon he owns the barker Tiki parrot!! What does he care about a flower? I, on the other hand, would get thrown out of the park if I got within 2 inches of an audio animatronic!! So, pathetic as it may be, I am pretty stoked to see an orchid.![]()
