Has anyone heard of this yet? Anyone going? I saw that tickets are $250 each. We wont be going.:confused3

Does anyone else find that this is priced a bit high???

OOPS! I just found another thread about this. I guess I'll be getting flamed for complaining about the price.:scared:

lol if i had the money to spend i think ited be fun and going towards a good thing rememeber it isnt her fault she is a disney charcter she is used as disney sees fit. her sweet 16 will be a big hit for alot of them and other ppl who can aford it. i hope all who get to go will have fun we will see the fireworks from our hotle that night

I agree, she is a disney character - how much are they going to make off of her???:confused3 Don't get me wrong - my DD's and I LOVE to watch her show and listen to her music. It's nice to see a pretty good role model for young girls now a days!

Yes there are other threads about it, but no worries, one is free to begin a new post, on a similar or same thread. I have no problem with it.
In answer to your question, off hand, yes I agree that the ticket price is not only high, but rather ridiculous, for large families for example that have children that are big fans of this performer, how can they all afford the price? they cannot, that is how. I quite frankly am really getting tired from hearing about this event, it is my understanding that she will also be going to WDW, for same said event. That must be very nice to be able to visit both Dl and WDW for your birthday, I am lucky if I get a card. ;) Seriously.

I need to correct myself - Miley Cyress sweet 16 party.

BTW - when was the last time you had to pay for your DD to go to someone's Birthday Party?

That is funny! I like that, and I agree. :)

Has anyone seen that show about Sweet 16 parties? I think it is on MTV.

This is starting to sound like that!

Seriously! Do people really think that they are going to be able to "party" with Miley in person?:snooty:

i know its high but think of it this way youd pay 300 to 500 for tickets alone for some music ppl and this is at disney land. they have to buy the whole park up lol

i do hope the fireworks are good from our hotle view
i like her music

I have heard that the party will be taped for the MTV show "Super Sweet 16" and I also heard that the money raised will be going to charity.

Also, it is being billed as a benefit, so a portion of the tickets should be tax-deductible.

Does anyone know which charity? is a part of the proceeds going to more than one charity? and what percentage of the proceeds is going to said charity (ies) ?

Sharing the Celebration with Youth Service America
In addition to all the birthday fun, Miley's Sweet 16 will shine a spotlight on Youth Service America, an organization that seeks to improve communities by increasing the number and diversity of young people, ages 5 to 25, serving as volunteers. (For more information, visit www.YSA.org .)
In keeping with Miley's passion for youth volunteerism, Disney Parks will make a significant contribution to Youth Service America.
With the organization's involvement in "Miley's Sweet 16 - Share The Celebration," Miley said she hopes that other young Americans will be encouraged to volunteer in their own hometowns.
"The best part of the party is we're going to recognize some really cool kids from Youth Service America who are giving back to their community," she said. "That's so awesome because I think it's really important for kids like us to volunteer."

I am not sure the percentage, but it will help YSA. I understood it as, there will be children that have participated in YSA there being honored at this event.

Which charity has been answered above.

is a part of the proceeds going to more than one charity?
No.

and what percentage of the proceeds is going to said charity (ies) ?
That has not been publicly stated. However, for tax reason, this information must be available to people who purchase tickets. A phone call to Disney and/or the charity would probably be necessary to find out the amount.

I can't believe it hasn't sold out yet! With only 5,000 tickets, I figured it would have sold out already. Is this being advertised in California or is this mostly word of mouth? I see it on the DL page, but they don't have anything on the events page about it.
