So I am sure there are a few hangers in the "closet", but about how many?

I need a bunch ...like 30 or so (family of 5 on Med. Cruise). Can I ask for more, or should just bring them with me?

We're a family of 6. We had two connecting rooms. I hung all my pants and dresses in the closet and my husband hung his suit and his shirts and jeans. We still had a few left over. We had a LOT of space in our room. We put our suitcases under the bed and our shoes in the closet. Our sons who shared a room also had tons and tons of space. Lots of empty drawers in our two rooms and I didn't exactly pack light! I was very surprised at all the space in the staterooms. I know alot of people talk about bringing over the door shoe rack organisers but we had space to spare. I put all my daily cosmetics and such in an empty drawer. Our stateroom was always tidy.

I'd say having 6-10 hangers on arrival is about right. Your stateroom host will bring a few more if you ask, but in my experience extras do tend to be a bit harder to come by on longer cruises.

if you anticipate needing 30 hangers, I'd pack some just to be safe.

Wow, I'm surprised. Maybe we just got lucky because we had our closet pretty full and we never had to ask for extra hangers. Maybe the folks before us did and they were just left. :confused3

Years ago there were maybe 6 hangers and I always had to ask for more. More recently, there are maybe 20-25 and we've had plenty.

Yes, you can continue to ask for more if needed.

Thanks for asking this question, because I didn't think about possibly needing extra hangers. On my last 3 day cruise it was just 2 people in the room, this time we'll be adding another person. I don't recall how many hangers we had but there was just enough for 2, so we will definitely need more for 3 people worth of clothes.

We picked up a couple of 10-packs of metal hangers from Wal-Mart & stuck them -- I didn't want to have to have an issue. I ended up taking them with me, but was fully planning to leave them behind after the cruise if we needed the room.

I save the hangers from my husband's dry cleaners - they send his laundered shirts back on wire hangers, which are no problem if I have to leave behind on the ship.

I called and requested more hangers and they brought me about 20 as that is all I needed. I don't bring hangers as I don't want the extra weight.

We're just off the 10 night Med and needed more hangers. We just called and they brought plenty, no problem. I wouldn't pack them, just let your host or hostess know or call housekeeping.

I guess I just don't hang that much stuff. :confused3 I only remember there being about 10 hangers...but I didn't even really use them. I pack our dressier hanging clothes on hangers from home that I use in a rolling garment bag. So they're already ON hangers & I just take them out & hang them up. I use packing cubes and packing folders so I don't need to unpack everything like that. We live out of our cubes & folders & I just use a spritz of Downey Wrinkle Release on anything that needs it.
