So what do you think?

My DH built this and I painted it. It is supposed to go in my Parrothead themed sunroom, if I ever get it:sad2: , with 2 adirondack chairs (also handpainted) flocking each side.

DH talked to a guy in our local mall the other day, and he wants to sell them for us!!! Chairs too! So I'll be busy with that. My problem is that I don't know what it is worth. I am still trying to fathom that someone might buy something I made! Boy, it would sure help out trip, though!

I went ahead and also listed it on Ebay, but DH wanted me to charge a little more than I thought I should. Is it good enough? And what would you pay? What would you charge if it was your work?

The Table is 15.5" tall and very sturdy, weatherproofed.

I love it! I love whimsical furniture. Did my dd's bedroom similarly one year.

As far as price, I have no idea. Probably depends on where you live, etc. I would think if the guy in the mall sells similar things, he would have a good idea.

How much was the table itself before you painted it? How much were your supplies? How long did it take you?

My DH built the table, I can't remember how much the materials were, b/c we did it 3 years ago. DH says less than $25. Total hours on it, prob. around 12- 15.

Thanks for the compliments.

I guess it all depends on how much you want to be paid for your time and talent. Unfortunately, artists rarely get paid enough :(.

With $25 for supplies at 12 hours of work you would have to ask $85 to make $5 per hour. The table is really cute, so you might get that much or even more. How much did you ask for it on eBay?

I started out at $75, but DH says I was undercutting myself, so I upped it to $135. I'll just wait and see what happens I guess. I hadn't thought about it as "per hour". I defin. don't want to get "paid" less than $5/hr.!
