I just got back from a Boardwalk stay and had shipped a case of water from Costco. I was surprised that I had to pay $10 for a handling fee when it was delivered to my room! I never had to pay this and the guy said it started about 3 yrs. ago when Disney started using a 3rd party. He said he was laid off from Disney but had secured a job with the new contractor.

The convention resorts have always had a handling fee for packages. Boardwalk is a convention resort.

It's my home resort and have stayed here before but never have had to pay a fee. The guy said it started about 3 years ago, although it may have been a while prior to that that I had a case of water shipped to Boardwalk. In January, I stayed at Beach Club.

There's a whole sticky on the Resorts board detailing which resorts charge the fee and why, etc.

There is a Hess station right across from the Boardwalk resort parking lot, why not walk over there and buy convenience store items such as a case of water, soda or beer, and carry it back to your room :confused3

I guess a case of water, case of beer and case of soda is a bit much to carry all at once... Maybe just hail a taxi, how much would they charge for going one block ?

While you were at the Hess station you could always pick up some beef jerky :lmao:

I was surprised that we were charged a $10 handeling fee as well when we stayed at CSR. We were told that because it was a convention resort, there was a third party that helped with all package deliveries, and thus there was no way to waive the fee. Still not a bad price to have your case of water, but it is a bummer when it is unexpected.
