I saw someone with a handicap placard for there stroller. Does anyone know where to get one. I would feel better taking my stroller through the lines with one.:coffee:

:dance3: :cheer2: :cool1: 2 days!!

I'm not sure if you are talking about a sign with a handicapped symbol on it. If that's what you mean, you can find them in places like Home Depot or Lowes; they sell signs (like FOR RENT, NO PARKING, etc). Signs with the handicapped symbol on it would be there.

If you mean the little sign/sticker that Disney gives, you need to go to Guest Relations to get that. Check out the disABILITIES FAQs thread about GACs. You will need a GAC or WDW sticker to use a stroller as a wheelchair to be able to bring it into lines and buildings.

I don't think Sue stressed enough: You will NEED a GAC ...
Handicap placards intended for motor vehicles have no meaning except in the vehicle transporting the owner of the placard.
The handicap signs you can buy in the locations Sue mentioned have absolutely NO standing when used by individuals (vs., say, being posted in front of a parking space). After all, they're available to absolutely anyone with a few dollars. Ditto for the small square HP stickers.

Subject-specific - no sign, sticker, or placard is valid for use inside any Disney park. Simply go to Guest Relations the first day you enter a park and request a "Stroller as wheelchair" GAC. You will need to bring the child with you.

Guest Services and they will not on it that the Wheelchair will serve as a stroller. We got one and it rained that day so we had to go back and get another one because it just faded and ripped. I solved the problem by getting it laminated, punched a hole in the middle of it and put it on a chain around my neck and all I had to do was show it to the cast members. They loved the idea of the lamination and said it was so much nicer and visible that way.

Another, less expensive (and less time-consuming?) idea would be to bring a clear plastic zip-top bag and a piece of string. Put the stroller-as-wheelchair card in that, close it, poke a small hole in the corner, and tie the bagged card to the stroller.

Just back, and ours was a laminated type sticker strip that attached to our stroller. It rained like no tomorrow the entire time and ours was fine. My park maps turned to liquid(I didn't know they could do that :confused3 )but the sticker was fine.

Just FYI, you are not going to be able to take the stroller in the regular line. You have to use the handicap accessible entrance. DS needed it for the queues only- he has low tone, his new DAFO's weren't ready in time, and walking the length of any one of those queues would have done him in for the day. But there were some real drawbacks and I wish I could have carried his 45# thru the ones for the movies. I have to say that the views for the 3-D movies are really horrible for a small child- the stroller sits too low, and even in a chair it was too low. And you totally miss out on any effects in the back of the theater. Also, anyone who thinks people would use GAC not to stand in line is nuts. We generally waited longer. But all in all, it was better to go on mostly everything than one ride only which would have been our option otherwise. Glad it is available. :goodvibes

I just wanted to point out that most attractions don't have an actual handicapped entrance. For the attractions where wheelchair/ECV users board at a different place than the regular boarding area, they are usually pulled out of the line close to the regular boarding area.

When you are in Guest Services, ask for a Guidebook for Guests with Disabilties for each park. When you look up each attraction, it will list whether you go thru the regular line or there is a special entrance for wheelchairs. There is also a link to the Guidebooks in the disABILITIES FAQs thread near the top of the board.
